IRIScan Pro 3 Cloud Portable Color Scanner

I bought this for my husband to cater to his paperless crave. The feature he likes the most is the ability to use the scanner as an all day desktop scanner and pull it out its base to be used as a portable scanner when he travels. The product also comes with business card software so we finally have scanned all our cards into Address Book. We hesitated with other scanners but went for it because of the portability.

I bought this scanner because I need to sporadically scan documents and I don't want the footprint of a flatbed scanner on my desk.I read a lot of complains about this device, but I found it works just fine (Windows 8).The problem here is with the software. Not that it doesn't work, the OCR is actually done pretty good, but the user interface offers a rather poor user experience. You have to dig into settings and have to figure out workarounds to do many things, and overall you have the impression that you are dealing with a clumsy relic from 2005 instead of a brand new device bought in 2015. The software actually looks like something that is 10 years old at least. And the documentation is poor.This said, if you are a tach savvy user, once you have struggled a bit then the scanner just works good. But for a lot of users that just (rightly) want something that works straight out the box with the least effort possible, I understand that disappointment and frustration may arise.I had no problems with the hardware itself up to this point. It just feeds and scans good.I give it 4 stars because I think it is a good product and the software issues only affect you at the beginning. But IRIScan really need to update it making it more user friendly.

this was a very good purchase I have used it many times even scaned a passport and several drivers licences

It crops pictures automatically, especially if it has black background. Most of the time, it took few tries to properly scan a picture. The scanner worked great for the first 100 pictures or so and then, for some reason after that, everything went downhill. We had to constantly re-scan pictures, re-calibrate the scanner and even re-start the computer. Towards the end, the scanner was not able to take the pictures.The instructions provided by the manufacturer are really poor and there is no information on how to troubleshoot in it unless you connect to the internet.We were able to scan few documents and it seem to go good, but I did not scan as many as pictures. So, I am not sure if you will get into the same problems as with pictures as you scan more and more documents.One pro, it is light weight and compact.

I bought it with great expectation. I did not like it.

was hard to set up and get running got errors during scanning so I had to start over several times during scanning not exactly what I was looking for but it does scan what I need scanned and price was cheap enough for scanning

Muy buen scanner, me ha gustado muchisimo, es una excelente herramienta portatil.Deben tener en cuenta que si la hoja tiene pliegues se frena un poco dentro de la máquina y no queda bien escaneada.

I installed this scanner on 2 Computers--xp and windows 7--- I was never able to get a scan (out of about 100 scans) that was even close to the original, I mean garbled jibberish, no background color, small copies and Gigantic part copies, printing that was upside down and backwards, in no case was I able to get even a close copy of the original.
