Exactly what I was looking for.
Have been looking around for a 2-tier stand. I have a very old 2-tier that is showing its age and is also difficult to setup/breakdown. My single tier x-stand is a single brace and shows a lot of wobble when playing hard. It's nice to see these things in person, but shopping at local stores turned up a dismal selection of low quality or overpriced stands.I was a little concerned about the QL742 because of things I read. Assembly, missing pieces, etc. None of that was the case for me.Stand arrived late Saturday afternoon. It came out of the box fully assembled. Took only a minute or two to adjust the second tier to where I want my keyboards. After that, I threw it in the car and used it for a gig that night. It performed like a champ. The various adjustment options make it easy to put the keyboards in the perfect position. Big adjustments points are the "clamping teeth" kind, which I prefer. Very sturdy and provides a solid "lock" with the ability to fine tune. The "knee" button makes set up and height adjustment simple. The double x brace provides a sturdy foundation. Overall construction seems very good.Highly recommended.

good stuff
Worked perfectly right out of the box. I bought mine in January and its now August... i have not had one problem with it during any of the setup/tear down of my equipment. It is heavy, but that weight translates into stability. I made a good choice buying this one.UPDATE: I have had this stand for 2 years now. It still works as intended. I noticed a lot of comments about wobbly upper support arms. I have the same issue. I simply removed the blind nuts from where the upper arms mount (the silver square pieces), wrapped them once around with electrical tape, and tapped them back in with a mallet. Took me 5 minutes and they are solid.Unfortunately, this product has literally doubled in price in two years. I now have 4 keyboards, and I wanted to get another duplicate stand. But... that rate of increase over 2 years seems extreme to me. Same great product, new listed price.

Take it from a pro...
I am a professional keyboardist have been playing for over 20 years. Quick Lok makes the best stands in the business as far as I'm concerned. I am extremely picky, and a keyboard stand has to do everything I need it to.The stands are heavy duty, upper tier can adjust up-and-down. This is the biggest criteria that I need for a double tier stand, and this one does that very nicely. You can have a full load of this keyboard stand, and it will not move sway. Perfect!I bought this stand to replace my last one that lasted for about 14 years. The only difference between this stand and the old ones, besides the upper tier just adjustability (the old ones didn't have that), is that the earlier units were heavier and made stronger. They are now manufactured with a little bit less iron, but it doesn't seem to affect the performance whatsoever. It's actually a bonus because the stand is a few pounds lighter now.A new feature for these is that you can also just the depth of top-tier, a huge plus.I own threes now, one in my studio, one for local gigs, and one that I use to tour the United States. The touring one is holding up quite nicely. These are very hard to find anymore, they have been replaced by "on-stage" stands, which I think can't hold a candle to Quick Lok.Buy this, won't be disappointed!

Height adjustment is poor
The stand adjusts the keyboard either 2" too low or too high. I do have an adjustable piano bench, but when I adjust the bench higher and I sit forward on the bench like is proper I feel like I'm falling off and have poor control of the pedal because the seat is too high for me. I have a Roland RD-88 stage piano. This stand is a total fail, not being able to adjust close to a standard piano keyboard height. There should be finer control of the height. I've played piano for years.I liked the 2 tiers and the stability, but I need a different style of stand. I make a lot more mistakes adjusting back and forth from an acoustic to this stage piano due to the height difference. It's really frustrating.

Good stand for the money
I like how heavy this stand is. Seems very durable and extremely road worthy. The only problem is that the release mechanism is a bit dodgy and if you're not careful the [very heavy] unit could swing around and injure you.The second (top) tier is highly adjustable...many different angles and lengths...so with some trial and error, I was able to find the right angle and length for it's setting. I leave it like that when I tear the stand down so I won't have to mess with it again. That makes the stand a little bulky, but it fits nicely in the back of my Kia Soul with my other gear...so no worries. It is heavier than your average cross stand...not crazy heavy...but certainly hefty. I just hope the release mechanism is sturdy along with the stand itself. Time will tell.Overall, I'm pleased with it.

Good Stand
Did a lot of searching for the strongest, most adjustable X style keyboard stand and this one, by far, was on top. Ultra fast and easy to set up, too.A tiny bit on the heavy side for moving, but that's the trade-off for the really solid construction. Also, it was a return, so it was a "used" price. This one was a very good choice and a very good deal that will likely last a very long time.

Flawed design that makes the second tier wobbly
I read reviews that the 2nd tier wobbles. It does. The attachment point of the swivel to the X frame is flawed. With only one bolt holding it, the swivel is not firmly attached and it rocks back and forth.I think I'll fix mine by drilling a hole through the swivel and frame, then puting a longer bolt+nut through it.The stand is really nice if it didn't have the wobble issue
