Fantastic Cities is Fantastic! Great colouring book with lots of detail that both kids and adults will love!
Wow, this book seemed to be on pre-order forever but now that I finally have it...It's just fantastic!Fantastic cities is a great colouring book that anyone both adults and kids will enjoy. It's bigger than I thought, A4 in height and because it is square in shape, the same length across. The book is perhaps a touch thinner than Millie Marotta's or Johanna Basford's books or Animorphia but only a little. All the pages are a crisp white and are nice and thick, but are printed on both sides so I don't know how felt pens would fair (I always use pencils).Every page of fantastic cities is a wonderful overview of a city. As if taken from the point of view of a low flying bird. There are pictures of houses, sky scrapers, factories, even a port and strangely there is one picture of a lot of cars called traffic jam! (see the picture below). Every city picture takes up one side of the two open pages, so no worrying about colouring in the pictures in the crease of the book, and each picture also comes with the information of which city it is written close to the spine. As well as actual cities, this book also has mandalas of cities. I never knew anyone could make a mandala of a city, but it does work. It looks as if the city picture was put into a kaleidoscope. :) I am slightly disappointed by the mandalas though, just because there are some perfect round mandalas but others are only part of a mandala - see the picture below to know what I mean. To me this is the only downside to this book, I always prefer circular mandalas, but that really is the only downside I can see.I really love this book as for me I love truly detailed pictures. I love looking at a picture and seeing something in one place and another thing elsewhere, but all within the same picture, a bit like where's wally. I also like it as it's different from millie marrotta or johanna basford or the many other adult colouring books that are on the market at the moment. While I like those books and they are very pretty and often full of greenery and flowers, there's something about colouring a city...Different and just fun for me, perhaps because I grew up in the city?Overall I'd really recommend this book to anyone who wants to colour in something different. All of the cities are real (apart from the mandals or course) and feature places in mexico, india, Germany to name a few and cities like kuala lupur, san Francisco, there's even picadilly circus in London! It's very fun and I really love this book, for the amount of colouring you get it really is worth the price and I really recommend it! It's taking a long time to colour in just one picture :)I have posted some pictures of the inside pages if anyone is interested. I don't know if anyone would like to see a finished coloured in picture when I'm done? I never know if I should post completed pictures or not. I will also update the cities list when I have a moment. :)EDIT: I am still completing my colouring of Bremen, Germany but will post it when I am done :) I like colouring in every house a different colour that's why it's taking such a long time. For now here is a rough list of the places that appear in this book: San Francisco, New York, Sydney, Melbourne, London, Istanbul, Tokyo, Singapore, Amsterdam, Strasbourg, Johdpur and other city in India, Rio de Janeiro, Ilullisat- Greenland, Toronto and other cities in Canada, Himeji-Japan, Shibam-Yemen, Guanajuato- Mexico, Bremen and other German cities, Santorini - Greece, and just possibly others I have missed. I hope that helps you decide if you want this book and I'll post my picture by the end of the week! :) - And here it is! Please be nice, it's the first colouring in I've ever posted online! :)

Fantastic Attention to detail
My friends were all going on about their adult colouring books so I decided to give it a go. I love architecture so decided to get this book and give it a go. I'm so glad I did - it's amazing, and as such has kept me occupied & calm over the past few days! The attention to detail is simply stunning, when you first start out its quite daunting to know where to start (I started with New Yorks 1st Avenue) but bit by bit it all starts coming together. The book itself is massive, I was a bit worried as being left hander I thought I'd have to do that aqward thing all left handers have to do (move the book at aqward angles, and do battle with the bindings) but the great thing is that all the sketches are set back from the centre bindings so this doesn't affect me at all - ooh to be left handed! The paper quality is seconded to none, I'm using Staedtler pencils and am already looking into getting some fine point felt tip pens (but as I'm new to this, I have absolutely no idea what brand or type to get - any recommendations would be most welcome!)This book is fantastic, and I would recommend it to anyone. Their is a lot of fine detail that'll keep you out of mischief for days on end. So glad I brought it. Am going to be ordering the New York colouring book by Min Heo next. edit: just finished the New York scene, took me five days!

Amazing and Fantastic!
I am relatively new to adult colouring but have purchased several books and many many pens. Have enjoyed Color Me Crazy and The Magical City, also some more traditional like Diabollicaly Detailed and Angie Grace. Well, this Fantastic Cities blew me away. Amazing detail and so interesting to see such a birds eye view of so many different places. The paper is thick and white and the binding is such that the pages (they are big!!) can easily be spread so that all parts of the drawing can easily be coloured. Many pictures are tiny and intricate, which I love, some are more accessible but all are atmospheric and are up for interpretation. This book will certainly appeal to people who need a change from flowers, leaves , animals and abstract diagrams. My favourite colouring book by far. Any men colourists out there? You will love this one.Only two gripes: -1 -I often use alcohol pens which show through to the other side of the paper, would love this to be printed on one side only. This book is SO good that I have bought two copies so I can colour every page!- 2- There are quite a few Mandalas in this book which I am not keen on, (kaleidoscope stuff) I way prefer the city views. Personal preference I know know, but please in the next book stick to the cool city aspects. You get a massive amount of book for your money here. Many hours of pleasure. You will not be disappointed if you have patience and the colouring bug. An architects dream!!!!

Excellent book
Nice, large ,intricate pictures to colour. Have ordered fantastic structures too. Had both these books back in 2017 time....glad to see I can still get them. Just sort of books I like ...can't stand big spaces to colour....so this book is ideal for me. Would highly recommend

A Colouring Book with a Difference
This is an adult colouring book that is completely different to the run of the mill. it is certainly one I am pleased is in my collection. There are architectural views of cities around the world all beautifully drawn and ready to have colour added to bring them to life. The paper weight is nice and heavy ideal for mixed media Colouring. (so many out there seem to have thin paper only fit for a childs colouring book) whereas we adults want to use different media, ie coloured pencils for blending, watercolour pencils, fineliners etc. This book rapidly sold out at the end of the summer and is now finally back in stock again - grab it quickly while it's still available and before it sells out yet again. it is very good value and I can highly recommend it. it would be a good one also for a man to colour as well. So good for a man's present.
