Bought for a vertical latch on a shed double doors. Strong and not flimsy like the last one I had.

The bolt and locking mechanism is fundamentally sound and cleanly machined. The latch can be easily operated between closed and opened, there’s no tricks to this using model as usual over other barrel bolts. At the current price (~$7) its a good value.A significant plus to this model is its compatibility with padlocks, which is unusual for this type of latch. The slot for padlocks is large enough to accommodate the usual suspects of combination and key padlocks. A lock would increase the security of this latch if needed.On the flip side, the included screws provide very little security and border on being insufficient for any installed scenario. Since the product listing photos are artificially generated, I’ve included a photo of the screws with the latch, where the length of the screws is about the width of my pinky finger. If you need this latch to hold against people or animals pushing on it, you will need bigger screws.
