Good piece of kit.
Having had our small kitchen refitted, we decided to replace the coffee filter m/c and the espresso m/c (both DeLonghi) with this combo unit. DeLonghi m/cs have been reliable, so stuck with the brand. Have since bought optional water filters for both sections, as we have very hard water.

Looks sexy, BUT!!!!
SO! I got this machine last year after much research. Spent ages on finding the perfect burr grinder as well (Sage) but that's a different review. A few things about this machine stood out. Looks nice. It's lightweight, which I later learned would be an issue, but small. Plus it has loads of options for coffee. Problems, the plate under the pot doesn't stay hot. So if you are not planning on finishing off that pot str8 away, it may not be hot enough for you. I found that it struggled a bit with ese pods. Or maybe it was just the ones I was using that were higher-end and very tightly packaged. So I found I had to run it twice to get it to permeate these. My decaf pods were not an issue. So back to the machine is lightweight. When you go to turn the handle on the espresso arm, the lack of machine weight resistance means you have to hold on to the other side of the machine, or you will not be able to properly attach the handle. The 4-3 setting is for slower brewing coffee and to give it a nicer taste it says. So I would use it. The machine would turn off automatically after so long. But this light never went off. Anyway, long story less long, I sent it in for repair, they sent it back said nothing was wrong with it. I sent it back again, they said they fixed it. Now its leaking on my counter. I send it back (again). Something internal has cracked apparently, they can't fix it as the model is discontinued, so they gave me 3 options to choose from. I picked the most expensive one. Wish me luck hahaha. I mean, i liked this machine, had it not failed, I would have been happy to still have it over this amazingly cool piece of machinery that has arrived today.

Quality Control Issues
Had the previous version of this machine and asbolutely loved it so thought the updated design would be an ideal substitute. Upon arrival quickly saw that quality control had gone downhill, excessive steam coming from the device whe making filter coffee, door of the coffee compartment wouldnt open and close properly as if it was catching on something internally. Espresso machine worked but couldav got similar device without the filter coffee capability for around 100GBP which I ended up doing. Dnt know whether it was only my machine or this whole batch but utterly disappointed. On a plus note Amazon were quick to deal with the return and we're awesome as always.

Great machine
OK just to clear things up, coffee will oxidise after 20 mins of brewing so complianing that it's luke warm after the 30 mins auto cut off shows you have no idea about good coffee.

Very good machine.
I purchased mine direct from Delonghi, when it was on offer. It is a lovely looking machine, not too big. The coffee it produces tastes really nice, i previously had a pod machine, but wanted to stop using so much plastic, and the coffee this produces tastes so much better than the pods. The only thing that you need to be aware of is that you cant make just 1 coffee in the filter side, as it has to be filled up to the 4 coffee line, but i have found this to be actually just over 2 mugs full. The hotplate does switch off after about 30 mins, but it stays hot for quite a while after. Also the drip tray fills quickly, which i thought at first was a fault, and very nearly returned it, but have since found out that it has an auto rinse feature, which flushes the system through on start up and finish, which would have been handy if it had been mentioned in the instructions. But as long as you remember to empty it after each use, (not too soon as water continues to come out for a while) it is not a problem. I have given it 5 stars as for me the machine does everything i want it to. Cannot comment on the frother as we only drink black coffee.

Overcharged, Incompatible power socket, worked only for one coffee.
Later edit : After the first coffee it stoped working; it would turn itself off after 5 seconds after powering on. Returned it.Have found it at 158 Euros, i added it to the basket and when i check the invoice it was 162 (168 with delivery). I go and check again the price and it was 158. After that it arrived after one week, opened the box with excitement to make a espresso i discover the power socket is not compatible with the standard UK wall socket.P.S. : Warranty and manual is in Polish .
