Awesome quality and construction. Seems a few other reviewers weren't familiar with equipment of this nature and rated unfairly due to their own lack of knowledge/due diligence; Yes, these items are shipped empty. Imagine the shipping costs involved on a relatively large, odd-shaped, 60lb item otherwise. Also; Yes, of COURSE there's a large opening.......to FILL it. And you will find both the closing strip and lacing to seal the bag enclosed inside the unfilled beg. PS: There are several YT vids on the best ways to fill and seal these

This item is empty, there is no sand or prefilled anything. Also, is wide open hole so even if you do fill it, there is no way to secure it closed.

So let me say that as a workout bag, it's very not bad. The different handles allow you to try different exercises at different positions, and because it's sand, you can throw it over your shoulders and treat it like a ruck sack.Where this product fails is how it comes to you. I'm not even going to criticize the fact that it doesn't come with sand, the shipping would've made that difficult. What I will criticize though, is the fact that it doesn't have a way to seal up the bag.There is no zipper, or honestly any really good way to secure the sand. It does come with holes so you can stitch it closed, but my attempts to sew it shut was a failure on multiple levels. I finally got frustrated enough to use an epoxy on it, which worked, but has made it quite ugly at the opening.But now that I've done that, if any moisture gets in, I'll have a very tough time getting it dry.Honestly, a decent zipper could've made this an easy 4 stars, as the materials are pretty tough, and the handles i mentioned really can make for some good workouts, but the lack of anything to close it up was not only an irritation, I suspect it'll be a problem in the future.
