FUNNY AND VERY USEFUL!!
Funny and a good old classic! Would suggest reading while watching a video depiction to understand the old English. Note inbetween chapters are super useful for A level English lit! I got B and I found the guide sections super useful!

What a phenomenal read!
Can’t understand half of the bl**dy thing because it’s in Chaucerian, but a great turn on for at night! The 60 year old Knight and the 20 year old, submissive wife. Sign me up!

Text fine, but introduction a little dated now
The text is clear and the notes are helpful without spoon-feeding the reader. Anyone buying the text for study purposes should perhaps be aware that the scholarly and persuasive introduction by Maurice Hussey needs to be read in the context of much later critical work - for instance by Dr. Jill Mann - which suggests that Hussey does not give enough weight to the source material such as fabliaux. Scholarship from the 70s onwards suggests that Chaucer is less 'class-conscious' in his reading and open to influences that Hussey does not acknowledge. That aside however, this is an ideal student edition.

Good edition
a lot of pencil writing on the inside which was not listed in the posting of this item, but after erasing, the edition is fine for A level purpose. This book/ edition is the one to get for proper study- it is recommended from that standpoiint, although always tricky when ordering a second-hand copy.
