Amazing amp, amazing value
I've owned and played a variety of amps over the past 40 years including several Twins, JC120, Yamaha G100 as well as a plethora of half-stacks. This amp does everything good that all of those amps did and then some. It took me awhile to come across the digital fence, mind you. But if you are are on the fence about getting a digital amp have no fear in purchasing this. It does anything I ask it to and pushes a 4x12 cab just fine. It takes pedals well (RAT, T-Screamer) and you have virtually every Boss effects pedal ever made at your fingertips. It's light for a Twin but sounds ferocious when cranked up. The design is good with the controls inset on the top. The Bluetooth adapter and foot controllers are a must but for under $700 all-in you aren't going to find a better rig. This amp is going to be the new standard by which others are judged in the digital realm.I can't wait to gig with this and am thinking I may not ever have to buy another amp again. It easily drives a 4x12 cabinet full of V30's.

A Versatile Beast
Let me start by saying I have absolutely no regrets purchasing this amp. The clarity on this amp is astounding. I didn’t want something too small incase I wanted to jam with a band, and I didn’t want something so big that it would be impractical for the space I have. Let me start with its ability. If I was to compare this to the Gen 3 100 1x12, it’s significantly noticeable how much more rounded this thing is with 2-12” speakers. I have no doubt this amp would punch through a drummer in a rehearsal or venue. With the Bluetooth device, I can change up my pedals on the fly using the app (Bluetooth device is separately purchased) which if you don’t have, you can use a usb-c (from the amp) to usb-a (typical rectangular end that goes into a box charger) from your PC to the amp to update it, download the Boss Tone Studio app, and your off to the races. Make sure you have at least windows 10 or 11 for it and follow the instructions on the website carefully. Some things to note:- This amp has a huge library base of free pedal downloads created by Boss themselves or other users, but BEFORE YOU DO THAT, pull your booklet out and scan the QR code using your camera to register it. Once that’s done, click the picture of your amp, click downloads, and download the drivers and system program, then the tone studio last. It won’t recognize it if you don’t do the other two first.

Love This Amp!
I had a Katana MkII 100/212 and I loved it but I hated booting up my laptop every time I wanted to tweak a patch or make a new one, so it sort of cramped my creativity and I didn't get as much out of the MkII as I should have. With the bluetooth adapter added on, I can use my tablet, which the touch screen make much more user friendly and more intuitive. Now I experiment with my sound a lot more and make new patches almost every time I play. A new patch or sound is almost like a new piece of gear, which always makes me more excited to play. Overall the amp is basically the same as the MkII version, with a few added features, so if the bluetooth ability isn't high on your list of needs or you don't dig into the patches and effects (which means you are getting less than 10% of what this amp can really do), then you may not need to upgrade from the MKII.A note for those who are upgrading from a MKII to a Gen 3 like I did: The Tone Studio app for the MKII is not the same for the Gen3. Also note that the Gen 3 Tone Studio app requires at least Windows 10 to run. That was an issue for the old laptop I used for mine, which only had Win7. You can swap the patches from the MkII program over to the Gen 3 version, you just have to export them from the old app and inport them to the new one.

It's a good product to purchase.
The amplifier is great. Finding a protective cover for it isn't. I don't think Boss, which is a brand not a company hasn't made a cover for it.
