PureBites Chicken Freeze Dried Dog Treats, 1 Ingredient, Made in USA, 6.2oz

My shelties love these treats, and since one of them can't have wheat or corn (they're possible seizure triggers for him), I appreciate very much that these are 100% chicken breast. I fortunately did not have the issues that some other people have had (treats crushed to powder, or fatty pieces)... the treats in my bag were intact, they look like the product photo.Another reason why I bought these treats is to give a lean protein to my roborovski (robo) dwarf hamsters. The food I'd bought for them was too low in protein and my options to raise the protein in their diet were to give dried mealworms (sorry, but they gross me out), fresh cooked chicken or egg (I worried they'd stash the fresh food in their cage and it would spoil), or freeze dried chicken like these PureBites. It works perfectly, though I do have to cut the PureBites into smaller pieces (robo dwarf hamsters are very small!). One of my hams likes this chicken breast and eats it just fine along with her other food, but the other hamster is NUTS for this chicken breast. I put a small piece in her bowl and she makes a beeline for it. I don't know if it's the light crispy texture or the flavor, but she loves it and ignores all other food until she's finished the piece of PureBites chicken. It actually works quite nicely as a taming treat in the palm of my hand, as she doesn't hesitate to climb into my hand and will sit there to eat the PureBites.The only downside to giving these treats to my hamsters is when I get some out of the bag for the hamsters, my shelties get so excited thinking the PureBites are for them. The looks of confused disappointment from my dogs is too much for me to bear (they run around doing the things they think they're supposed to do to get those treats - sitting at attention side-by-side in the living room, and when that doesn't work, running to their beds to lay quietly), so I can't help but make sure the shelties each get a piece of PureBites too.Highly recommend these treats, for either dogs or dwarf hamsters. =)

My dog loves this. I bought it as a treat, but use it as a topping for his kibble. He loves this. Absolutely loves it. And my dog has discerning taste buds. Never met a dog who turns his nose up at some treats and has never found a canned dog food he will eat. But add some freeze dried chicken as a topper, and he finds his appetite.

The Good: This is a great product: pure (no other ingredients!), freeze-dried chicken pieces for pets. Although targeted at dogs, both of my cats have grain allergies, so are given these as a fantastic alternative to standard treats. They LOVE them!The Bad: Freeze-dried chicken is fragile, and more then once, I've ended up with an inch or two of chicken dust and 3 inches of treats due to damage during shipping. I seem to have the best luck when ordering them on their own so nothing else in the packaging bounces around during shipping and crushes them.The Are You Kidding Me: I decided to "Subscribe and Save" a month ago, since I order these fairly often. I incorrectly assumed that "Subscribe and Save" items ship independently of regular merchandise on Amazon. WRONG. With the very first order, some brainiac in the warehouse decided it would be a good idea to pack these with a 40 lb. bag of cat litter. They showed up this week in the form of mostly shards and powder, with a few chunks here and there. I contacted Amazon, included a photo of the damaged goods, but have not heard back. So, to support a great product but warn all of you, I decided to include my experience as part of the review. Big misstep on Amazon's part, hoping they make it right. 5 stars to PureBites for an incredible, healthy, reasonably priced product. Big Fat Zero to Amazon for awful shipping and poor customer experience. First zero Amazon's gotten from me since 1997, very unhappy shopper.

WOW.... It's Amazing!!After my 17 year old feline fur baby got diagnosed with Diabetes about 3 weeks ago and amidst all the changes in his life including diet and the addition of insulin injections.. he's not been able to have any of his regular daily treats because they are generally tooooo high in carbs. He's a treat monster and I just had to do something to give him something to still make him feel special and something else to live for besides Kisses! SO, thanks to feline diabetes website, their bloggers recommended dehydrated meat treats which will have high protein and no carbs. PERFECT for my big boy's needs.Well... these Purebites arrived today ...and without hesitation I put a few pieces of this freeze-dried chicken under his nose... and I've now created a monster!!! As others have reviewed about this product....It's DEFINITELY Kitty Krack! He just LOVES it! I've NEVER seen him this excited like this for ANY treat in all of his years! Plus, it makes ME feel great that I have given him back a spark in his life since this whole diabetes thing happened!I was looking at the cat versions of these treats and they were all just toooo expensive, (K'Mon Purebites, have a heart!) so I purchased the dog treats instead and I'm breaking them up with my fingers. We all love our animals and will do whatever we can for them. But personally I hate getting kicked when I'm already down. With this diabetes diagnosis... I've already spent $500 here, $100 there and another $100 on other stuff per month and then of course the $100 vet bill every 3 weeks... so I don't need to feel more financially abused because of the treats I want to and need to buy.I'll be buying more of these for sure and will look for it in other types of meats.Of course my on-looking Cattle Dog has sampled a few of these too... so I'll become a frequent flyer to Purebites I'm sure!FEED WITH CONFIDENCE to your own fur babies!! Expect to make beggars of them though!
