Cuts through foam like a blowtorch through butter
I bought this wire for a hot wire foam cutter I built from scratch. Using an online nichrome wire calculator, this gauge wire should work perfectly. I am using a 12 volt 6 amp power supply, 5.5mm jacks, and a pulse width modulator all purchased on Amazon. The foam cutter works exactly as expected.Plenty of wire for several projects and/or to restring my foam cutter if and when it becomes necessary.One word of caution--the spool will try to unwind itself when you untwist it!

used to cut Styrofoam. the longer the run the more voltage needed .using a variable transformerworks great. just dont let it golw red or it will break
