Bandai 59034 Soul of Chogokin Grendizer GX-76

This is the 4th figure from the Dynamics classic lines in the SOC series; as such, it is a bit smaller than the other SOC, and more lean and streamlined in its design, to better match the original proportions of the anime counterpart.Colors are brilliant and quality overall is on par with what you expect from an expensive collectible. This is a great step up from the GX04; and the nice thing is that they are releasing also the spazer and the other 2 vehicles, so you can fundamentally replace the GX04-S. Metal is also abundant, and it is very heavy.Articulation is pretty good; just beware of the arms, which do not have double joint (due to the rocket punch gimmick), and the neck, which has a flap in the back that could break easily if you move its head in flight position.In general all the Dynamic classic figures looks the same; the base is the same for all of them, and what changes is the specific parts for each figure. They need to save money of course, so that make sense. The downside is that the articulation and overall feel of the figure, is a cut and paste from the Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger and Getter 1, if you own them all.Beware of paint damage at the hips and chest; there are plenty of areas where the parts are snug and rub against each other.Overall a great figure; being the first Grendizer after the GX04, it is nice to see an update. I still like the SRC version; due to its more muscular proportions; and the size difference is not that marked, but this model is a much more heavy and solid version of the SRC, and of course, more expensive. As extra, you get also the spazer and the other vehicles (sold separately), while the SRC get only the spazer.Good figure; if you have a GX04 it is a great update; and beware that the cost of the whole package (figure, spazer, vehicles) it is considerable. Maybe they will release an S version down the road, with all the parts in one box.

Extremely happy with this product. The quality is so good, I could not have imagined this level of perfection in a figure = the weight, the fit and finish, the movement of the joints, the extra parts, etc etc. Grendizer now stands tall proudly on my desk and I'm happy to look at it every day!
