Perfect for Me
In my opinion this Bible, the ESV Student Study Bible, is stunning. It exceeds the expectations I had for ease of use and the quality and beauty of the book. The leather look cover is understated while at the same time being luscious to look at and velvety to the touch. The binding is well done and strong. The paper quality is perfect; silky and smooth and appropriate for a Bible. The diagrams and pictures are detailed and engaging and the coloring is beautiful. The Did You Know study clauses are very helpful and so simply stated and clear. I love the font and shade of the text and the modern chapter headings text. The brown study and reference and footnote boxes have differing shades which contrast the contents well. Everything about reading this Bible is easy on my eyes.In my opinion, they have done a very good job on this Bible, culminating in a book that is a joy to read and easy to understand. I cannot find one thing I don't really love about this beautiful Bible and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a study Bible such as this; it is unique and helpful with way too many special additions, information, illustrations and such to mention. Thank you.

Very good.
Bible comes in a case - not sure how long it'll last. Maybe 100-120lb paper. Thin cardboard.Regardless, the Bible cover and binding is tight. Good construction. Bible weighs a fraction of an ounce less than two pounds. The cover measures 8-5/8" x 6". The pages rest 1/4" inside on three sides. What makes it a "Student Bible"? I randomly pulled a verse - John 11:11. Lazarus is dead - Jesus hung out for two days where He was, then told His disciples, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I will go awaken him." Let's compare some footnotes:My wife's NIV: "fallen asleep." A euphemism for death, used by the unbelieving world as well as by Christians. My ESV (MacArthur): "fallen asleep." A euphemistic term used in the NT to refer to death, particularly with reference to believers who will be physically raised to eternal life (cf. 1 Cor. 11:30; 15:15; 1 Thess 4:13).This Student Study Bible: "Fallen asleep" means "died" (see vv. 12-14). The OT equivalent is "slept with his fathers" (e.g., 1 Kings 2:10). Occasionally, death is compared to a deep sleep from which people will one day be awakened (e.g., Dan 12:2).The Student Bible is certainly more both direct and expansive, puts the phrase in context with similar phrases, and gives three references to further understand. Nice job.Every two-page section also has a "Did you know?" There are dozens of personal profiles, maps, and charts.Overall, very well-done. Pleased and recommend.

Finally!
Reaaally long review in 3.. 2..I was in the market for a study Bible that was modern in translation, portable but not so compact that reading would be difficult, and closer to word for word. I'm a single mom, work full-time, and also in grad school.. I don't care for yet another item in my bag weighing me down further so on the hunt I went and found this Bible. I was instantly excited! She seemed to check off my needs in order to deep dive into His word without being textbook size. The cherry on top (but also the least important ask of all) she's beautiful!Translation: As a raised and baptized Catholic turned Christian, I really wanted to study and understand for myself rather than just going through life with "hearsay" from my elders. I wanted to connect with Him how I never felt growing up. I looked up my local non-denominational church and landed in my now church home that has helped me find my way to Jesus. In the effort to no longer be a "lukewarm Christian", I acknowledged that it was time to read and learn who He. Cue in Bible study. I started with the NLT about two years ago for the sake of wanting to easily comprehend what I was reading. The more I read, and no judgement of course, the more I came to the realization that I disliked reading at such a simple level. The NLT leaves no room for interpretation and almost made me feel... dumb? Again, no judgement or offense to those that prefer it, the important thing here is to read His word but as for me the NLT was a no go. As I continued my journey I found out that translations vary and are suited for different needs. The NLT being thought for thought just wasn't what I was seeking, as I wanted a translation more faithful to the original Scriptures but in modern day language. In doing research I landed on the CSB, NIV, and now the ESV. I went for the NIV as it is used at nearly every Sunday's message at church but those study Bibles are HUGE and I rather have my Bible with me at all times. Its comforting for me and like to be able to take advantage of any spare moment I do have in the day to read, highlight, and annotate. That's how I landed on this beauty.Portability: I have had wide margin all the way to compact.. too compact that I struggled while reading. This Bible is perfectly sized. It is just a bit bigger than my hand and not insanely heavy. Adds very little weight to my bag that's already loaded.Features: SO MUCH DETAIL! The book introductions I had no idea I'd benefit so much from. The commentary is top tier, the maps and timeslines really bring it all together. The perfectly laid out character profiles deepen my understanding of who did what and why, the "Did You know?" bits are always so informative, and already in just a few days of reading I feel I've learned more than I have while reading the NLT for two years. My only con is that it isn't red letter. It was enough to dock a star but my fix is that the Scripture I know came from Him is highlighted in a different colors to help stand His words out.Overall I am SO HAPPY to have found this Bible. She suits my needs perfectly with the information I feel really is propelling my understanding and faith.. and again, shes a BEAUTY!

Perfect for a maturing young Christian
This is a great Bible for a growing believer. I picked it up for my 14 year old as his first "next level" Bible after his more children focused CSB that he had. The notes are excellent for his age. They are accessible, but still stretch him, which is what I want for him. I would recommend for any teen.
