Small, Discreet, Function Well with ZHA in Home Assistant - Not Pet Friendly
I ordered these Sonoff Sensors to implement into my home assistant setup. The sensors were immediately recognised by the sonoff zigbee 3.0 plus dongle and added to my HA setup. The sensors work great with Alarmo. The sensors were much smaller than I anticipated. They work very well and the sensitivity is high, so much so that my robot vacuum cleaner set these off in the middle of the night. They are also not pet friendly, my dogs were easily detected by each of these sensors. I have had to angle these up towards the ceiling in order that they do not catch the floor area, thus moving them out of the range of my dogs and vacuum. Even though they are pointed upwards they do still detect a human presence which is great, the issue is the range is just not as good now. The sensors can be attached by magnet to a metal base or by the included 3m sticker, or with plain old wall screws. In summary for a home without pets or robots these would work great, either as an alarm sensor or as a PIR for lighting ect.ZHA does not allow the changing of the cooldown time, so you are stuck with 60 seconds. There is a workaround available however this did not work for me, and no matter how much i tried to reprogramme the cooldown time in ZHA the controller failed to write the new parameters. One other thing of note is that the motion sensor sensor in ZHA is always 'detected' so you can not use this, however the 2nd entity exposed is occupancy, this is what you use when implementing to ZHA.I hope you found this review helpful

Ideal for smart home
I love my smart home and these were a great addition. They’re small enough to not really be an eye sore but look good enough that when seen, people love them. They work great at detecting motion and triggering my automations quickly. Really easy to install, and are magnetic to quickly change position or battery.

Very simple and recommended
Simple and cheap monitor for presence within a room.Added it to a home assistant build very easily zigbee is a far more stable and simple way of using these type of monitors. Hardest thing about the implementation was unscrewing the ends and removing the plastic tab from the battery. Advise that you log online to the website in order to get the manual from there as the included leaflet with the item is only really interested in their own app.Very simple and recommended

Works nicely with home assistant
Integrated one of these with home assistant (since I already had other zigbee devices, I already had a hub connected to it). I really like that it connects to the base magnetically, that makes it easier for when you have to change the battery. The detection works nicely, and once it was paired with the hub that home-assistant was using, integrating the sensor with the lights I wanted it to control was a snap.

Take as you find
I use one of these to turn an Alexa light on in a vanity toilet and another to turn on an Alexa landing light at night. They both work really well. I’ve read other reviews about Sonoff products and they weren’t very good but these sensors work ok. Take as you find.

Very unreliable sensor
So I’ve tried all the motion sensors from Sonoff and none of them work very well - this is no exception. It’s a shame because the other products I have from Sonoff work well.‘When’ it works, it’s fine, but it’s hugely hit and miss that you can’t rely on it to be working when you need it to be.I’m currently sat right in front of it moving around and it’s not detecting me - whereas 30 mins ago it was.Save your money and buy better sensors from other companies!

Works well
Great motion sensor, easy to setup using the eWeLink app and a Zigbee hub. Comes complete with screws and self adhesive mounting, you choose your preferred method. The magnetic sensor to base mounting makes it easy to position or to access the battery.I found it difficult to access the battery compartment (old hands), it is tight to turn - but easier once I realised you turn slightly and then pull 🤦♂️Great little sensor - I have two of them and like the Sonoff products generally.

Range is extremely poor
Paring was easy using home assistant and Z2M once you figure out that you have to open it and remove the paper from the bottom of the battery. But sadly the range is angle of detection is extremely poor. It's 3m at best and you have to be standing directly in front of it. Compared with the old gen of the aqara ones that I still have, I wouldn't steer clear of these for now. I'm tempted to return it... And stock up on the old aqara ones that are still available on Ali Express. Sadly the new aqara sensors just as bad as this one.
