Nice, lightweight weave
I used this to make a 1930s style slip dress. It hangs beautifully and was very easy to work with. Nice and breathable fabric.

Beautiful fabric, but not batiste
This is a beautiful piece of quality fabric, and I can certainly use it; but it is broadcloth, not batiste. Batiste is thinner and lighter weight, perfect for baby clothes. The broadcloth is thicker and a heavier weight fabric.

This is Spechler Vogel Imperial Batiste
This Spechler Vogel white Imperial Batiste will be used by the Cherokee Rose SAGA chapter to make NICU gowns for area hospitals. It is the finest poly/cotton fabric to stitch heirloom garments. Our members have been sewing with this fabric for years. We are very pleased to find this fabric at Fabric.com/Amazon at a very reasonable price.

Heavier than the imperial batiste from the 1990s
This is a poly cotton blend, good for many uses, but not comparable to the imperial batiste blend I mail ordered in the 1990s for smocking. I couldn’t use it for the christening gown I ordered it for, but it would be a solid cotton/poly blend for button down shirts or more sturdy things.

Happy with this purchase
The product arrived earlier than I thought it would, it is of good quality, and is closer to medium weight to me. However, I have never worked with batiste before so am not an expert. I am experimenting with some heirloom sewing and think it is a good value for practicing, and using in clothing.

Wonderful for lining sheer cotton tops
Also good for lining eyelet baby clothes and for making baby dresses. Washes wonderfully in a warm wash and low dry. Minimal fraying and minimal wrinkling.

This is not Imperial Batiste.
My order was for Imperial batiste—a very specific brand and quality of poly-cotton fabric. If that is what you are looking for, look elsewhere. This fabric is rough and stiff, not at all appropriate for the baby clothes that I intended to use it for.

Imperial Batiste
I use this fabric to line cotton fabrics so the come out of the dryer just lie they were it ironed.
