Sun Hood Kit for DJI Mini 4 Pro/Air 3/Air 3S/Flip Accessories, Includes DJI RC 2/RC2 Controller Accessories: Sun Hood/Shade/Cover, Screen Protector and Lanyard

This is a great shade and device protector for the RC 2 Controller. It appears high quality as if it is a DJI product. The installation for both the shade/cover and lanyard are straight forward and it doesn not obscure any functionality on the controller. It is super convenient (and protective) to hang the controller around your neck and not have to install, or worry about, the joysticks or screen. I did also install a screen protector by Cynova (Amazon) but I suspect the one that you can bundle with this would be fine as well.Some reviewers complained that either the main cover or flip up extra shade wouldn't stay in place. I haven't found that to be the case and they supplied a special screw driver to tighten the hinges should it become necessary. Once you figure out the packing strategy, it fits well in the Mini 4 Pro bag with everything that comes in the combo package (drone, batteris, charger bank, cables, propellers, etc.).The only issue for some may be that if you want to mount the controller on a handlebar, most adapters for this want to occupy the same space on the bottom of the controller so if you want to do this, you will most likely need to remove this cover. It would be great if they built the bottom of this unit with a female threaded camera mount on the bottom. However, removing and replacing the cover is quick and easy.

This is an important item to get if you are using the DJI RC2 controller. That's the one with the video screen.So when you are out on a trail going over rugged terrain, you need to be able to keep your hands free for safety, but you also need to be able to get to the controller quickly. In addition, bright sunlight can obscure images on the controller screen. This product solves all of those problems, and it is very inexpensive.The benefits:1. The strap is light weight and takes up very little room in the drone case or backpack. It's also very comfortable to wear and it is adjustable.2. The cover provides a shade to block sunlight and make the display easier to view.3. The cover is an important safety item because it covers the flight controls when closed, preventing spurious and unintentional commands while you are navigating your way over difficult terrain.4. The cover allows you to be safe and keep your hands free so that you can balance yourself if you stumble or fall along the way.5. The cover allows you to keep the screw-in joystick levers in place instead of having to remove them when you put the controller away.Disadvantages:1. NoneIn conclusion, I find this hood shade with lanyard to be an essential safety item for anyone who is going to be using a DJI drone with the RC2 controller in remote or difficult terrain. I am surprised that DJI doesn't have something like this as an included accessory, because without it or something similar, it's just too cumbersome. This product has made me feel safe, and far more comfortable and confident using my drone.

This fit my RC2 controller like a glove and it is secure, precise and fully functional. In short, it exceeds expectation for a controller cover screen protector and sun shade WITHOUT having to remove and stow controller sticks when not in use. Outstanding Product!

Helps shade your controller, gives extra protection to your controller also

I have a DJI Mini 4 Pro with the RC2, and really wanted a sun shade. I was searching and found this, and here’s what I really like: good quality, perfect fit (screws lined up perfectly and it I stalled easy), solid design and good alignment completely around the controller, fits perfectly in the DJI shoulder bag without really taking up much more room than without it, lets you stop putting the joysticks on and off (you’re gonna drop one eventually in the tall grass, trust me on this) because it covers and protects them while installed, it has a great sun shade extension flap that really helps when the sun is just at that angle where you’d otherwise have to nearly cover your screen with the single visor, it includes a really handy little screwdriver for the hinge screws so you can snug them exactly how you want so it’s either really loose, or firm hinge opening (including the sun shade extension flap hinge), it is cut perfectly to not interfere with my Hanatora aluminum bracket I use to attach my lanyard (I like that product too, btw), and the gray color looks like it’s a DJI part.What I don’t like? Nothing. I think if I take care of this, don’t overtighten the hinge screws, and treat it with respect, it’ll last. That’s why the 5 stars!If you want a nice shade, great screen and device protector, and you are tired of putting joy sticks on and off, what the heck are you waiting for? I got this sun hood to help with glare during my flights. I use the drone for inspections so I don't always know that I will have shade to help with my vision. The shade secures nicely to the controller and provides a very clean look. The overall shield is a bit wider than the controller so what I did was to use a band saw and sander to remove the "sides" of the shade but leaving a very nice cover on the controller. This allowed me to continue to slide the controller into the sponge-fitted case by Nanook and have no need to cut the foam.As for the screen protector, that was easy to install, bubble free, and provided a wonderful cover for the factory screen.

Excellent protection for your radio controller. Perfect fit. It even comes with three screensavers that are better than most of the others.
