Excellent; Effective Coasters and Very Durable
I have three sets of these coasters - the first set is over 10 years old and was purchased at the Coors brewery and has their logo printed on the coaster. After using that set and being very happy with them for such a long time, I tried to find them again and could not find the exact design any longer, but that search finally led me to finding these natural sandstone coasters here on Amazon, and I like these even better and in fact I've purchased two sets of them.According to the Thirstystone website, these are made from sandstone quarried in the U.S., so this is a domestic product. The quality in my experience is really excellent - our original set shows almost no wear aside from some very minimal chipping at the edges, probably due to dropping them from time to time. Since sandstone is a relatively soft stone, I think that you have to expect some risk that they will chip or break if dropped on a very hard surface. The cork backing is solidly attached and well centered on all of the coasters I've received. The 10 year old coasters have the cork still solidly attached, as good as new. The coasters are heavy, as you would expect. These coasters are very absorbent although I've found that under certain conditions of weather or humidity it is possible to have condensate exceed the ability of the coaster to absorb, and you will get some minor puddling of water on the surface of the coaster. That has not been a problem for me, and your glass is not likely to pick up the coaster no matter how much water might be on it, but it can happen on occasion. There is only one slight negative to these coasters - they are almost a half inch thick including the cork backing, so when you put a glass on one of them, it needs to be centered fully on the coaster. These are not paper thin coasters where you can put your glass down without looking. There are many many styles available for these coasters. I selected this natural sandstone and they are very attractive. There are a couple of other "natural" styles that are also very nice, plus many with designs of various types printed on them. I did some searching on the internet before purchasing here from Amazon, and in addition to the varieties available here from both Amazon itself as well as other third party sellers, I learned that there are even more styles available elsewhere. So if you don't find what you want here, just know that you can do some internet searching and you may come up with another design that you prefer. The price here was slightly less than what I found at other websites plus the shipping was free and I know that the return policy here on Amazon is unbeatable if you have any problem once they are received.Great coasters.

Great!
Well made and works as described. Nice neutral sandstone color. Cork protective side prevents scratching furniture surface.

One of the best materials for coasters
I've had several kinds of drink coasters and these are the ones I've come to see as the best. There are two things I feel a proper coaster must do: 1) Absorb condensation from the glass, 2) Stay on the table and not stick to the bottom of the glass when picking up a drink. Sandstone is a superior material that meets both criteria. It's natural, it looks good, and it feels nice. There's the possibility that fine glassware could be lightly scratched on these over time. They can be a little fragile if dropped or not properly cared for. Over years of use some water staining can occur. All minor issues in my mind.I have three sets of Thirstystone coasters. They've all been great quality. There's only so many colors to choose from, but nature only gives us so many options.I will continue to buy these over all other coasters. Now if I can only get my guests to use them consistently.

Thirsty and handsome!
I bought these Thirstystone coasters a month or so ago, and was just having breakfast on my patio and appreciating how thirsty they are, so thought I’d write a review. I have a wood table top and these coasters have really come in handy… not to mention, they are handsome!

Desert sand coasters
I like the color, they work well absorbing condensation. They are quite thick ( thickest coasters I’ve ever seen), which makes them heavy. In the small side for a coaster but pretty and do what I purchased them for. Probably won’t buy again due to size & weight of them.

Great nice looking coaster
I highly recommend these coasters as they are attractive and absorbent. I have expensive wood furniture. We recently had a guest who loves to drink sodas with ice. We were using cork coasters. After a while I had taken her drink away and noticed that the condensation from the glass had gone through and left a terrible white ring on my end table. I immediately found these coasters and they shipped right away. The coaster works perfectly. It is highly absorbent and attractive. I did get some blue drink on one coaster, but after lightly scrubbing with soapy water the stain came out.

Best coasters
These are the best. The sandstone absorbs any condensation, which here in the desert is a way of life with cold drinks

Best coaster I have ever used.
I have used several coasters over the years, everything from wood to cork to plastic. These are by the far the best at absorbing water or "sweat" off your favorite glass. I have them sitting throughout the house, wherever I tend to sit my beverages down. I will probably buy one more pack to just have around in case I break one. If I was looking for something negative about these is that they are probably brittle and will break. Especially if dropped on a very hard surface such as concrete.
