UPDATE: Solaray Vit C from Healthways: I left a questionable review recently as the capsules were white rather than the beige they had been for the last 40 years or so I have been buying them.... I finally did what I should have done in the first place, which is taste the powder in the capsule. It was vitamin C and even though Healthways offered me a full refund I feel very guilty about possible disparagement of their product. (Although the bottle before did have a funky smell, but I took them with no ill effect.) Anyway, the bottom line is the product is good and the seller is EXCELLENT.I am perplexed at the receipt of this Solaray Vit C. I have bought it for years and the capsules have always contained a beige colored substance. The Amazon catalong page also shows a beige capsule. This bottle contains a pure white substance, like their calcium capsules. I'm not sure it's even vitamin C. The one I ordered before from Amazon had an unpleasant odor similar to vitamin B capsules. Is Solaray falling apart or what is going on?

I have purchased vitamins and minerals from this brand for a while now, but this is the first time I purchased one of their vitamin C's. I trust the product completely even though I have noticed some discomforts here and there...To start with, the capsules are an average large and not difficult to swallow and the flavor you will get is a medium light acidic flavor as you put it in your mouth before swallowing it. Second, I take only one capsule a day and have taken it on an empty stomach and with food; morning and/or evening.When I took it with food, I noticed some discomfort in my stomach; for example, this morning I took it right before breakfast maybe like 5 minutes before breakfast. Later in the morning, I realized that the eggs I ate along with the capsule reacted in a negative way and resulted in one episode of diarrhea.There were a couple of occasions I took it in the morning without eating any thing until way later in the afternoon and so far that worked best for me since I did not feel the same stomach discomfort I mentioned earlier.The other thing I do not like about this vitamin c is that it releases in two phases and that creates an urge to pee many times during the early and late evening. This can be a little of an inconvenience if you are out and about, at work or running errands; but not as bad if you are at home. I feel this vitamin C makes my bladder way overactive and it is inconvenient during my sleeping hours; since I have to visit the bathroom frequently to pee.My husband takes this same vitamin and he takes it at different times of the day with or without food and he does not have the same issues as I do. I guess, different body systems, different reactions...Overall, this is a great vitamin in my opinion and the value of the brand, benefits, and quantity are very good. I will keep using it the way it works best for me and my body system.

These supplements work great for me and they don't irritate my stomach in any way. I'm not crazy about ascorbic acid being an ingredient but this is one of the few Vitamin C supplements that includes the ingredients rose hips and acerola cherries - two of the Mother Nature's best sources of Vitamin C. I recommend this as a great Vit C supplement since it's best to have Vit C dispersed to your body throughout the day according to the brilliant Dr. Steven Gundry.
