It improved my painting ability
I painted a whole picture with just this brush. The brush made a difference. The tip is so fine you can do detail too!

Excellent Brush
There is a reason you see so many artists on YouTube using this brush. It has a great tip for details, holds water well, and has become my favorite brush .

Awesome brush for tiny watercolor paintings
I absolutely love this brush! It took me a while to be able to purchase it because of the price but after using it today I’m sure it’s going to be one of my favorite brushes! It definitely was worth the wait!

Holds a lot of watercolor
I really love these “Silver Black Velvet 3000s” brushes and have a #2, #6, #8 round as well as a #16 mop. They hold a lot of water and are a joy to paint with. However, my #8 is a bit flawed as the handle is beginning to crack and the ferrel is on crooked. I know cracking can occur if you’re are one to leave your brushes in water or store them bristles up, neither of which I do. I will continue to use it but also expect to have to replace it sooner rather than later. The brushes are so good that I will definitely consider the problem a fluke and not a reflection of the quality of every brush they make. As a woodworker, the way the handle has cracked reminds me more of a poorly chosen stock piece of wood before it was ever turned for a handle. All that said I would still be inclined to buy again as needed.

Well balanced watercolor brushes.
I paint watercolors and I've primarily used Escoda brushes, notably the Prado from their synthetic series and the Reserva, a natural Kolinsky-Tajmyr brush. However, after trying the Black Velvet brushes, they've quickly become my new favorite. They retain almost as much water as the Reserva, while offering the control and ease of use similar to the Prado. An added advantage for those in the US is that Black Velvet brushes are more accessible and budget-friendly than Escoda. While I still hold my Escoda brushes in high regard, I find myself gravitating more towards the Black Velvets.I wouldn’t go as far as to say the Black Velvet brushes are the best ever, as brush preference is highly personal. Each person will find brushes that best suit their style – there are no 'best' brands, and favorites can span multiple makers. If you're serious about watercolor painting and haven't tried the Black Velvets yet, consider adding one or two to your collection. They might become a new favorite. Even if they don't, they're quality brushes that make excellent spares.

Think I got sent a return brush at first
Think the first brush they sent me was a return brush, as it didn’t come with a protective cover for the brush and was in a big plastic bag. The brush tip was smooshed and curved the tip, rendering it useless. Asked for exchange, new brush not only came with a protective cover but was also packaged. I showed an example of the brush strokes and what a huge difference it makes to not have a damaged tip. This brush holds it point, seems like it holds water well and I think it’ll be a great addition to my brush collection!

Awesome brush
Perfect for watercolor, very responsive with pressure or less pressure to achieve desired effect with watercolor.
