Better than other budget grinders in this price range
The media could not be loaded. Incredibly great build, solid materials, hefty weight. Definitely feels a lot better than the plastic built electric grinders in this price range. Comes with a lot of extras that other grinders in this price range do not have. It has a removable magnetic feed chute. This makes it so easy to clean. It comes with a bellows. Neither the Encore ESP nor Opus include those, and they are definitely necessary. It comes with a little RDT bottle. It's strangely small, but definitely a welcome addition. It has a great feeling magnetic catch cup that automatically centers. Feels a lot better than the one on the Opus. It is stepless! This makes dialing in espresso a breeze. And the dial is robust, it does not drift over time, and the way the dialing mechanism is designed, calibrating the grinder is easy! THE ZERO POINT IS REALLY EASY TO FIND: For everyone who's struggling with this on this grinder, just keep turning the dial clockwise while the grinder is off until you cannot turn it anymore. This is your burr touch point! Note this number. Then turn the dial CCW for about 50 ticks. Turn the grinder on, and turn clockwise until you hear the burrs rubbing. Record this number as your 0 point. Espresso range should be 15-20 ticks CCW from this point. ESPRESSO: This grinder can do espresso. The espresso is surprisingly good clarity, able to give clear tasting notes! The body was lighter than I expected for a conical grinder. POUROVER: Tasting notes were still distinguishable, but definitely more muddled and blended.TLDR: Best grinder in this price category, surprisingly good espresso

Great beginner grinder
Trying out the Starseeker E55 in comparison to the Fellow Opus and DF54. Great quality in materials, this grinder feels a lot better than the Opus in the build. There isn’t much plastic, and it operates without a fuss. Heavy, it doesn’t jump when you start it, which is a sign of a solid build. Mine came with a plasma generator, so no complaints there. A great conical grinder to pair with the DF54, which I feel like is its most comparable flat burr counterpart in terms of build and ease of use. I would recommend this for beginners, it’s easy to dial in, definitely pulls well textured, syrupy, chocolaty shots of espresso.

Not as clean and slick as they want you to believe
Saw a lot of videos before buying! The video makes you think this is one coffee grinder does not create a mess around where the coffee ground is dispensed! Unfortunately, this is not the case! It does make a mess and coffee does not cleanly and fully dispense! The photo shows the coffee grounds left around the grinder after only one grind, even with container placed very close to outlet! And it is not that quiet! Comparing with the video, I almost wonder if I got a fake! The control on the granularity of the coffee grind is great! The coffee does taste good! So we decide to keepthe grinder, but have to change out the towel underneath the grinder once in a while!

Amazing price for a stepless grinder.
I bought this to replace a Baratza Encore ESP that had way too much plastic and ultimately failed. The Starseeker E55 is compact, priced right and yields excellent results. Retention is minimal and any coffee grinds are easy to remove from the grind chamber with the included bellows. Easy to grind for espresso and the grinds appear quite uniform. It takes a bit to dial in the right grind, as it is stepless and easy to get the grind too fine. But that's a good thing if you want to make Turkish coffee. This unit seems up to the task. The construction appears robust and looks like it will be durable for the long haul. Haven't made anything other than espresso yet, so I can't comment about its overall performance, but I expect that it will be able to handle all my coffee grinding needs. Based on my research, the E55 seems like a great value for single-dose grinding--comparable to units priced much more. I really do like the E55, especially compared to the Baratza.

Not for espresso
Bought this to use for my espresso machine. On the first grind I had it set to 10, but the grinds came out course, I could have used them for cold brew. I then set it to 0 and the grinds came out no where near fine enough for espresso, they would have been good for pour over or a regular drip coffee maker. Picture is the grinder set at 0.
