It's not fully soldered
Asa seen I'm my attached pictures the solder pads for the antenna connection are not soldered fully. It's a cold weld. Breaks off with slightest pressure or anytime you try to remove antenna. probably be fine if you never use that.

nice compact kit with external antenna
This is a standard ESP32 type development board. I would only get this board if you have some familiarity with working with microcontrollers and can find your way with a bit of research. This is strictly a board and parts - the seller doesn't offer any direction on how to use the board, or any QuickStart on getting the board running. Many of these boards come with an integrated antenna, and are slightly bigger. This is a nice combination of compact board, and pigtail external antenna parts if you want better range, or want to use some form of metal enclosure for your project. All the standard software tools apply. You can go to the expressif website if you want more information about the part installed on the board, or links to development kits. The URL on the back of the board doesn't work. (It goes to some chair mfg, and trying the diymall URL instead of diymalls goes to a domain for sale in china - i'm guessing what used to be the company site)As the other comment on the product says, this is a 2.4Ghz part only.

Nice little embedded computer, nice antenna
I have tons of ESP32 based boards I use in DIY projects, robots, and STEM education classes that I teach. The ESP32 C3 is a pretty decent choice for a low power, high performance board with WiFi and BLE support. There are some caveats though—the wifi is 2.4Ghz only, limited GPIO ports, RAM is limited (for some uses), and there are other similarly priced ESP32 models with attractive alternate features like the D1 Mini and the C6 (I love zigbee!). This particular ESP32C3 is from DIYmall; my previous ones were from Seeed Studio, and the board is laid out differently but seems to be good quality. The header pins are not pre-soldered, a pro or con depending on your needs. The biggest plus in this particular package is the WiFi antenna, which makes this set a good value. Overall, I give this board 4 stars mostly because of the better options available.
