Great but slow to heat.
I love this thing the only drawback is it is not on house power. So it is slow to heat up. That said we now plan ahead and plug it in 30 minutes in advance of a stop it will heat up and keep it hot until we stop. A great addition to our travel bag.

Danger!
After a few uses the inside part of the lid started to melt & warp and won’t seal anymore. Be very careful or you might spill boiling water over yourself. It also started to randomly not work (no light, no heat) at all and then suddenly it would work again. just be aware.

Excellent water heater here.
As an OTR truck driver here I can say that this stainless steel heater works great. I mostly use it for boiling water for my coffee in the morning and to boil water for my meals also. Works really fast and has a green light on when the heating is finished. It's from China and no American instructions though.

Detailed performance review
I monitored voltage, current, and water temperature for 40 minutes.Picture 1: Set up prior to plugging it in - battery fully charged and rested - reading an ideal12.74 volts. Water temp 72.8°FPicture 2: A minute or two after I plugged in. Voltage under load stabilized around 12.2V. Water started heating immediately.Picture 3: Drawing 7.4 amps (a little under 100 watts). That's a lot of power. Hopefully your car's 12V outlet is designed for more than 5 amps.Picture 4: After 20 minutes water temp is up to 138°F (still a little on the colder side for coffee, but not bad).Picture 5: At 35 minutes water temp is up to 200°F. I stopped here but I expect it would boil after another 5 minutes or so.Pictures 6 and 7: The kettle leaks when sealed - not great. The cord grommet is loose out of the box. Cheap manufacturing. It's not particularly well-built.Picture 8: Battery recovered back to 12.5 V (around 20% discharged). This guy draws some power. I wouldn't recommend powering this with a starting battery unless the vehicle is running the whole time.Tldr: It did what it claimed. It does draw a lot of power so it may not be appropriate for some vehicle circuits. The manufacturing quality is poor but the price point is comparatively low. You get what you pay for.

It does the job
It takes a pretty long time to boil water, but this little electric kettle does the job. Since it takes such a long time to get room-temperature water to become a boiling state (about 20 mins or so with a car power outlet), I pour the hot water into another thermos to keep it hot and start boiling the next bottle. If you are driving a long distance, you want to start boiling water about 30 mins before your next stop so that hot water will be ready when you want to take a break and make a nice cup of tea or coffee.

Perfect for car camping and heated quickly
I bought this to use while car camping in Grand Staircase Escalante, Utah and didn't want to bring my camping stove and have to buy fuel. It held enough water to make a dehydrated meal and a hot drink and heated quickly enough to make more boiling water for a dessert. It took up less space than the stove and fuel would have, too. We used it after hiking, on the way to our next trailhead/campsite because we had read reviews that heating took 30 minutes, but we found that the boiling time was about half that.
