Cute and simple
This book is cute, simple and to the point. The rhyming makes it fun to read. I think the repetition in the book reinforces the ideas and is helpful for little kids. Not complicated and it doesn’t need to be. It is straightforward and shows other ways to handle anger rather than just hitting. I appreciate that the story illustrates using these alternatives to hitting.

A wonderful resource to help toddlers identify and resolve angry feelings without hitting
This book offers invaluable help for young children who may struggle with frustration and anger that leads them to hitting. Through simple yet ingenious scenarios, the author presents many common situations that young children could easily relate to as causing frustration and leading to the desire to hit. However, through beautiful rhyming and repetition, children will begin to predict when the boy of the story will begin to feel angry and will remember the fact that “hitting is bad.” In every instance, the boy is given help to find a better way to deal with his anger rather than hitting. These coping skills are presented in a clear, direct fashion that will easily allow your child to remember and apply them to their angry moments as well. Children will be inspired as the boy of the story grows so much in his understanding of dealing with his anger that, at the end of the story, he is able to help his sister with her anger as well! The book’s illustrations have a watercolor quality and are definitely another bonus of the book as they beautifully capture the emotions of the story as well as the reader’s attention.

The Message Here Works
This rhyme story, which gives solutions for no hitting, is well suited for very young children. It’s a cute and simple short story that little "kiddos" should find very relatable. The colorful illustrations are nicely done, as well. I got this on in the ebook format, but will be ordering it in the hardback version as I find it quite suitable for my children’s library. It's a good book that can be shared with other parents in my circle that are going through the hitting phase with their children. There is also a song available that the reader can go listen to that further helps to reinforce the solutions offered to prevent hitting.
