Look no further!
Where has this been? I’ve sampled dozens of hardwood charcoals and I’m here to give this Nomad offering my full-throated endorsement. It’s as dense as any charcoal on the market and built for hours of cooking if you need it. Its uniform size also takes the guesswork out of the equation because I know where the finish line is on a cook and (more importantly) when I’ll get there. Easy ignition, burns hot and clean, and all with an effortless cleanup. A no brainer.

Good quality
Good quality and burns quite long. The best part is that every piece is uniformly shape so that you can easy control the heat distribution of the grill.

Not like the hot burning Japanese type
Hard to start, doesn't burn as hot as the Japanese charcoal. They did include some charcoal starters that I really liked

Don’t waste your money.
Don’t waste your money on these charcoals. They burnt out fast and do not produce as much heat as the other Thaan charcoal on Amazon.

Not your typical charcoal, very special, high performance, hot, long & clean burning; not cheap tho
These “Nomad Fire 100% All-Natural Hardwood Charcoal | 10 LBS | Thai-Style Binchotan | Long Burning (4-6 hrs), High Heat, Low Ash, Low Smoke. Pro Charcoal for Nomad, Kettles, Kamados, Charcoal Smokers” are not your typical Kingsford briquettes. These are very special, 100% natural, fruitwood charcoals, made in Thailand. They perform very well. They are highly compressed, and indeed, they burn for a long time, and best of all, you can suffocate them (put it out), and re-ignite them later and use them again, you don’t have to burn it all at once. It does take a little bit of time to light them tho, and since there is no lighter fluid or anything artificial on them, you just need to either use a chimney or charcoal lighting stove to get these going. The aroma is pretty good, kind of natural yet very charcoal-ish, smoky, in a good way, if you know what I mean; yet, it is not as good as Japanese binchotan. This box of Nomad Fire charcoals also come with a few natural fire starter, and that’s a great gesture and nice touch. Overall, these are good charcoals, yet, they are pretty pricey, 10lbs for $36; even though it is understandable that shipping these heavy stuff is not cheap.Thank you for reading this review, I hope that this review & the pictures are helpful to you in support of your purchase decision.
