I was a little concerned about the quality given the price point and the inlaid wood. I was greatly pleased with the quality of craftsmanship. The inlaid wood looks great. Some had mentioned the noise factor of a wooden playing surface. Since it is just used by my wife and I at home, this is a non-issue. The checkers are have a little heft to them and feel good in your hand. They are not anything fancy, but they are not cheap plastic. There is no storage bag for the components, but a small jewelry bag solved that. Overall, I am really pleased with this purchase.

I really love this backgammon set in all wood but with plastic dice and checker pieces. The set comes in a wooden case that is rounded on the edges, so it's lovely to hold. It's not heavy, so easy to carry. The wood surfaces are a tiny bit rough, not sanded to the smoothest, but I'm not sure what kind of wood it's made out of - only that it's sustainable. So it might not be the greatest hardwood, but it's still really well made. The game comes with instructions in a little color pamphlet, with fairly good strategies, but the instructions did not make it clear which direction to move your pieces. The rules also state that pick and pass is not allowed (also known as hit and run), but it's generally allowed in the standard rules. So if you've never played the game you should check the official rules on the backgammon federation's website instead of relying on the rules included, unless you reside in the Middle East where these rules do apply. What a lovely set, and so mid century modern in its color choices and style. At this price range, I really admire the set's aesthetics and mid to high level workmanship, and enjoyed playing several games with my child who demolished me!

I would have chose one that had pips that color coordinated with the points.

Very beautiful & classic vintage style board game set for all ages. The game set is made from good quality wood and looks nicely polished and smoothed. Also, it’s not that heavy and bulky so it can be carried easily. The box closure has 2 attached magnets which enables you to close the box when not in use, however I would prefer a proper closure bolt for durability. The package comes with 30 plastic tokens, a number cube and 4 dices along with wooded dice shakers, which are all essential for the game. It also has an instruction booklet which can be useful incase you playing for the first time or need some assistance or tips; however, they are not completely accurate so you may like to watch some online tutorial or read blogs to understand the game correctly. Overall a great quality game which can be played with family or friends!

This backgammon set is beautiful. It has internal studs for closing but there’s no handle for traveling with it. So I would keep this protected at the house. I have played backgammon since I was a child! I needed another set for our vacation home and this allowed me to introduce the game to our visitors. It's a well-made board with a pretty finish. It comes with all of the necessary pieces to play and the entire set has a quality feel. The board it large and everything fits easily inside to close it up when not in use. The board looks nice as decor as well so it can be set out on a shelf as a display while not being played. The instructions are included but if you are new to the game, I recommend watching an online tutorial as it can be a little confusing reading it vs seeing how it's played. Overall, great quality and highly recommend.

This set is nice. It feels pretty sturdy, and the wood is smooth and polished. It folds in half, and the pieces can be stored inside. It has magnetic closers, which are nice. It has all the dice and checkers needed to play the game, wooden cups to shake the dice, and slots on the sides of the board to hold the checkers as you bear them off. The little pieces come in small, clear plastic bags. It would have been a nice upgrade for these to have been cloth bags. The set comes with a small set of instructions in case you are new to the game. For me, this set is an upgrade over the one I had that had a cardboard board. Overall, I like this set and recommend it.

This set is beautiful. The pieces have some heft to them. The board looks good either open for play or closed. The game stays closed when not in use with 2 sets of small magnets, which gives me confidence I'm not going to dump the pieces everywhere when I pick it up and move it. I'm holding onto the two bags to store the pieces inside the board, as it seems like this would protect the interior wood better than not.
