I appreciate the smaller packaging
Convenient packaging for sweet potato noodles. Most of these are sold in large long bags that are not convenient for storage. So I appreciate these single serving packets. The noodles are tasty too.

Not a lot of taste by themselves and the thickness makes them somewhat hard to chew.
Review of: MOHNIC - 5 Pack Thick Sweet Potato Glass Noodles 2.12 oz | Gluten Free, Vegan, Perfect for Korean Food and Stir Fry Noodles | Sub for Pasta Noodles, Rice Noodles, Vermicelli Rice NoodlesThese MOHNIC Sweet Potato Glass Noodles come in a thick size and a thin size. I decided to try the thick size because I like my noodles chewier and well, as a change of pace over the thinner noodles I normally use.The first thing I will say is that this thicker variety is definitely chewier, as I somewhat expected they would be.There’s no English translation on the bags so I had to go online to translate the instructions to figure out how long to cook them (6-7 minutes). But at that length of time, I had more trouble biting through the noodle than I thought I would have simply because the noodle kept ‘bouncing back’ in an almost a wet, rubbery way. At that time length the noodles were just a little too al dente for my tastes. On my second taste test I did try cooking them longer (9-10 minutes) and it definitely helped as the ‘give’ on the noodles was closer to what I want; soft enough to eat but still with some firmness to the product. As for taste, they don’t have a lot of taste on their own, but I didn’t expect them to. During my first taste test I actually cooked them with some tonkatsu broth and tofu, and the results were delicious (looking beyond the overly firm nature of the noodles). So, I think these noodles are not really a stand-alone type of item, they definitely need some kind of flavorful sauce or multi-flavored soup base to make these noodles useful for a dinner. And, finally, in both taste tests, a single bag of the noodles was shared between two people and that proved to be a decent size as long as the noodles are served with other ingredients.

Good alternative
Pretty good alternative to regular pasta, the noodles don't have a super strong flavor by themselves but a good pasta sauce brings it all together. And as someone who loves udon, I really enjoyed the thickness and chewiness of these noodles. Something about it is just so satisfying!

Tasty noodles, work well in soups and stir fries
The sweet potato noodles look and cook up like rice noodles. Absorb moisture and soften quickly, have a nice smooth and chewy texture. They have very mild flavor themselves and carry flavors of other ingredients well.

quick and easy noodles
I will be honest that I didn't have a clue what to do with these noodles. I have never cooked with them before so I went through some ideas online and used what I had at home. It was a simple dish that was a quick meal. I didn't have any veggies readily available and I didnt want to use too much of a sauce so I cooked the noodles in some vegan beef broth and when cooked, I added just a little bit of oyster sauce and topped it with some spicy garlic french fried onions. Honestly, that was pretty good and knowing the flavor now I have a few other ideas to use with the other packs. I think this would be great with a stir fry, or with some shrimp and I think it would even be a great addition to a cold asian salad. I may even try to fry some up.

Nice portions, cooks well
I cooked these with a couple tablespoons of Ramen base and half a cup of dried seafood soup vegetables for a quick, filling and delicious large dinner bowl of soup. They picked up the flavors well and the texture was nice.

Good noodles
This is a 5 pack of 60 gram packets of thin sweet potato glass noodles from Mohnic. They arrived fresh and factory sealed. I decided to make japchae with these noodles, but ran into the issue that the entire back label is in Korean. Not a huge deal as far as making them, but it would be nice to be able to read some of the other information about them. A quick internet search told me I should cook them somewhere in the vicinity of 5 minutes, which I did and they turned out great. I haven't had these before and I was surprised to see the cooking water turn very dark grey, and the noodles were also translucent dark grey when I drained them. I cooled the noodles off by putting them under running cold water, and that also took away most of the grey color and left them essentially clear. These noodles didn't have much flavor on their own, but they absorbed the flavors of the dish I put them in. They are very, very long noodles, and have an enjoyable texture. I liked these noodles very much and would get them again.
