I just unboxed this knife and it is beautiful! I am so impressed. This would be a really nice gift for a special occasion.

Really nice knife!

I had high hopes for this knife based on the pictures, description, and even the reviews. When the knife arrived it was as pictured and I was pleased with my purchase....until I went to flick it open. Unfortunately the knife i received had a flaw. When in the opened position, at the base or bottom of the blade, the steel extended too far, blocking the liner lock from moving over to lock the blade in the open position. I suppose I could have taken it apart and grinded that section down to allow the liner lock to move over, but I chose to send it back for a refund.Other than that it looked cool and may have been a decent, unique carry knife.I should have taken a picture of the flaw so I apologize for that.

I don’t know that much about knives even though I have several and collect them.What I do know is that this ALVELY Damascus Steel Pocket Knife is at the very least, an objet d’art. It is very beautiful with excellent fit and finish. The Damascus steel blade features a very ornate pattern that is smooth to the touch. The Ebony Wood handle fits my hand well and is adorned with high quality, ornate hinge cover plates. The blade is very sharp. It easily flips open with one hand using the blade nub and is just as easy to close. It does require two hands, for added safety, to release the liner lock. Once closed, it locks firmly into place. The unique blade nub has a small hole in the center of it that could be utilized as a safety by inserting a wire or pin through it. That would prevent the blade from opening, kind of like a trigger lock. This could be useful around children. There is also a pocket clip that I was unable to see if it is removable using 4x reading glasses. I can’t tell if it is attached by hex screws or rivets. I often remove these clips especially when they are installed backwards for my way of pocket carry relative to the blade deployment nub. Fortunately, this knife is oriented the way I like them to be. I found the dangling faux lanyard with skull to be annoying and I was going to remove it. Then I learned that it does aide in drawing the knife from its very tight fitting sheath.The kit includes the beautifully ornate heavy duty leather sheath that completely protects the knife and those who may pick it up. The sheath has a leather belt loop that maxes out at about an inch and a half. It wraps around the sheath and is securely sewn on. Packaging is a gift quality box with a magnetic latch, and includes a soft pouch for the naked knife and a micro fiber cleaning cloth. It is clearly made with gifting in mind.Brand new, this ALVELY Damascus Steel Pocket Knife looks museum or art gallery quality. IMHO… It is really too nice to use as a work or field knife. I see it more as a gentleman’s or officer’s dress knife. I can’t know how it will hold up in real world use. As noted, it appears very well made, sharp and robust. I have no reason to suspect that it won’t perform well in the field. I just wouldn’t use it that way, myself.

cool knife, however within 2 months of normal use mine completely fell apart, the screws on the handle came undone and wouldn't go back in securely. waste of money.

A great looking knife. Very large and robust. It feels good in the hand. The pocket clip is cheap and does give a bit of a hot spot. It came with a sheath so i took the clip off and it feels and functions so much better. With a better clip this would be a truly great knife.
