This probiotic by Solace has three components:1) Gut Comfort Blend i3.1 3B CFU (P. acidilactici CECT 7483, L. plantarum CECT 7483 and 7484) – these probiotics individually and in combination have been studied for calming the guts of people with intestinal inflammation, fructose intolerance, gluten sensitivity, and irritable bowel syndrome, among others.2) L. rhamnosus GG 2B CFU is a probiotic that has been widely researched for reducing gut inflammation from many causes, and gut-related difficulties.3) L. paracasei MCC1849 is not one I was previously familiar with, but a quick search shows that it has been researched for specific immune-boosting effects by assisting with the body’s production of a key cytokine. It might also help with mood.If anyone else is interested in learning more about these strains, the NIH website Pubmed contains summaries of all published medical studies and is a great resource. It can be searched at pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov.When choosing a probiotic I always look at the ingredient list to see if the manufacturer is using a generic probiotic or a named strain. “L. plantarum” vs “L. plantarum CECT 7484”. The named strains are often patented and cost more, but it’s the only way to know what you are getting.That’s all great, but how does it taste?The bottom of the bottle has thick sediment, so it has to be shaken before drawing up the dose. I’m glad they didn’t add extra ingredients to prevent settling, as this means there are fewer additives. After shaking the bottle, I put the end of the dropper into the plastic hole in the top of the bottle, turned the bottle upside down, and pulled back on the syringe until half the dropper was full (0.5ml).The probiotics are suspended in organic sunflower oil but it didn’t taste oily. It has a strong orange flavor that actually reminded me of an orange cookie. It was a bit gritty, but not much. No unpleasant aftertastes although the orange flavor lingered a bit. I don’t think most kids would mind the taste.Not bad at all.A taped-shut blue box held the brown glass bottle of probiotic. The lid had a screw-off lid, with a safety seal built in. The bottle was accompanied by a plastic-wrapped 1ml plastic syringe. The box and bottle were marked with a lot number and expiration date. The expiration date was 7/2026, or 20 months from date of delivery.

It wasn’t like I was transformed overnight, but I found myself feeling less bloated after meals, and even my energy levels seemed more consistent. What I really liked was how easy it was to use. The syringe application was simple—just measure it out and I’m good to go. No big pills to swallow or messy powders to mix. It's also hypoallergenic, which put me at ease since I can be sensitive to a lot of stuff. Now, I’m not someone who tracks every little change in my body religiously, but I definitely noticed I wasn’t having the same digestive discomfort that I used to have after heavier meals. And, as a bonus, I didn’t catch a cold during the time I was taking it, which I’d like to think had something to do with the boost to my immune system. The bottle is small—just 15mL—but a little goes a long way. It lasted me a good while, even with regular use.

The fact that this comes with a little syringe makes it all that much better. This is so easy to add to drinks or other foods and is a great daily dose of those probiotics. The flavor is pretty neutral, even though it does taste a little sweet and slightly acidic? Not sure how to describe it really. It is pretty tasteless once added to a juice or something like that. That's mostly what I added in and there is nothing distinguishable about it. I've even added it to an ice cream shake once! The only gripe I have is that the servings versus the bottle size. The bottle is quite small in the servings are almost a full syringe. Even though the syringe is small, it didn't last very long. I do wish this were a longer lasting bottle and bigger!

I really like this concentrated formula for digestive probiotics. The taste is not so bad, easy to take directly. The only downside is that they are on the pricey scale. Other than that, great probiotics.
