I was making a frozen cake and cup cakes. These gels are excellent. You need a tiny drop to get quite a nice intense colour in your butter cream. Even used it to colour the sugar glass as you can see on the big cake. They give a slight iridescent sheen too. Bear in mind the cakes also have irises pearl spray, so it will not turn out quite as shimmery as in the finished pictures. Have added a pre sprayed picture to show the effect. For the cakes I used the purple to tone the white from being a little yellow, and approx 3 drops of the aqua blue for the blue parts.

Loved the colourful box that the little bottles came in. Each bottle contains 15ml of colour, each colour was vibrant and you only needed a small amount to get the desired effect, so start with less and if you need a darker/stronger colour, add more. It mixes well and they have no flavour so it won’t spoil or detract from the taste of your main bake.I used these on cupcake icing with a batch I’d made with my two youngest grandchildren and they also added it to the homemade slime they’d made. Unfortunately by the time I’d remembered I needed to take a photograph of the cakes for the review, they’d eaten them all! But as you can guess with small hands and lots of imagination, they were very colourful.Very good price too and as long as you store them correctly they’ll last.I received this product as part of the Amazon Vine programme. Great pack of 7x15g gel food colouring.Good quality and well made.Well pigmented.Easy to use.A little goes a long way.They don't change the taste of food.They can be used on fondant, cakes, chocolates, etc.I would recommend it.

I made a little video so you can see the product but will come back after the weekend to show you some finished products. I have added a photo of my rinsing out the colour I mixed with the Blue and Lemon, gorgeous. I would recommend this item.I also think because of the nice box you could add this to some baking items to make it a lovely gift.

Good price and a range of vibrant colours. The gels seem more vibrant than the water colourings.

Wow, these are intense, vibrant colours and a little goes a long way.Being a gel it's very easy to add small, precise amounts of colour to icing, candy, creams etc. It's also easy to mix colours for a custom look. The gel is homogenous so no need to shake the tube to ensure even distribution of pigment. Excellent. NOTE - this isn't any use for chocolate, you need an oil based colour for that.There's a five year shelf life on these which is excellent as inevitably some colours will be used up faster than others. I like that they're sugar, egg, nut, soy, gluten and dairy free so they should be suitable for most culinary purposes.At £6.88 for 7 x 15g tubes (as at 20 November 2024) I think these are great value and are a must have for cake makers.
