I got this to add to my formulation for a mild soap for washing dye out of fabrics I dye.
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate Powder - Cosmetic Grade - 16 Oz / 453 g - Mild Surfactant for Soap Making, Lotion Making, DIY Cosmetics, Haircare, Bath Bomb Making - SCI Powder by Talsen ChemicalsFirst impressions: Nice resealable pouch full of powder, ready to use in your soap making.Installation/setup: Mix in liquids to improve your soap's effectiveness. Use caution, don’t get it in your eyes or inhale any of the dust. Be sure to wear a dust mask and eye protection. If irritation occurs, rinse with plenty of water.Final thoughts: I got this to add to my formulation for a mild soap for washing dye out of my tie dye fabrics I dye as a hobby. The soaps I have been using are expensive and there have been supply issues. I have been using several different formulas, trying to find the one I will use going forward. This is a contender for surfactant, I like the way it works and once it’s dissolved, it is non irritating. From the web: Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI) is a gentle surfactant derived from coconut oil that is commonly used in skincare and haircare products. This white, powdery substance has gained popularity due to its mild, non-irritating nature, making it suitable for a variety of personal care applications. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is a sodium salt of the coconut fatty acid ester of isethionic acid. It is an anionic surfactant, meaning it carries a negative charge that helps to create a lather and lift dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin and hair.⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

be careful
This ingredient you need to be very careful with because it is toxic to breathe in. I would definitely recommend at least wearing a mask. If not, one of those gas masks that protects your breathing I always use this in my bathroom that has a window and then I turn on the fan because this stuff is really unsafe to breathe in, but if you mix it with another surfactant, it dissolves very easily and adds a nice creamy thick texture and honestly the final product with this ingredient makes the cleanser feel really nice and doesn't strip your skin but still leave it feeling very clean so I would recommend it but just be cautious

Great for making your own soaps
If you're making your own foamy soaps, this is a needed ingredient. You already know you need this if you're looking at this product most likely though, so I don't need to convince you of that. What I can tell you is that this worked just fine in the soaps my partner has been making for a while, and he has used other brands before -- this worked just the same and is a perfectly good product.Good value for the size

Good product but
This came open and looked like powder everywhere. I think they might need to work out their shipping storage. The product itself was fine. But the hot mess it created in my mail room and apartment was not a happy moment.

A Chemical Surfactant I Would Actually Use
Sodium cocoyl isethionate powder is an excellent gentle surfactant that works well in pH-neutral and acidic formulations. Unlike natural soaps that break down in lower pH ranges, this surfactant stays stable, making it a great choice for products designed for sensitive skin, hair, and the face.I’ve been impressed with the quality of this product—it dissolves well, creates a creamy lather, and leaves hair and skin feeling clean but not dried out. It’s much less irritating than harsher surfactants (like SLS), which makes it ideal for shampoos, facial cleansers, and body washes.Overall, this is a high-quality ingredient that delivers great results. I’ll definitely be ordering it again for future formulations.

Great For Lather
I regularly use Dr. Bronner’s 8-in-1 Pure-Castile soap, but I've found it quite runny, making it hard to lather when diluted. I mixed the soap with water and added it to my body wash to improve this. This method dramatically enhanced the lather, creating a rich foam that made my cleansing experience much more enjoyable.

Adds lather to soap
I tested this product to see how it affects the lathering qualities of hand soap. I added it to an all natural lemon-verbena hand soap that didn't have any lathering effect. Mixing this product with water and then adding it to the hand soap caused the soap to have a rich lather. The powder is very fine and seems to be of good quality.
