Power to the product!
The Silver Stone SST-ST4SSF v 3.- SFX Series....., was the choice as the power supply for the building of a completely new computer system. It sat alongside a number of other Silver Stone products chosen for the purpose. There have been no regrets at the choice of brand and this power supply is no exception. The power supply is highly efficient, easily fitted (into the Silver Stone computer cube box), noise free and good value for money. It is a most appropriate power supply for the product.

Easy install and as 'silent' as you would reasonably need
Office pc had a very noisy psu fan so thought I'd give this a shot looking for as close to silence as possible on a budget.Straight forward fitting, came with a plate which my case needed as the old psu was larger (as well as whooshing like a hoover). Switched on and I have to admit that I initially thought it wasn't powering as there was no sound at all but pc booted and works perfectly. The thing is genuinely silent - at least within reasonable parameters. Highly recommended for modestly spec'd pc's.

SilverStone SST-ST45SF v 3.0
This is an old design and extensively reviewed online so there shouldn't be any surprises; when benchmarked it only just about manages the 80 Plus Bronze efficiency standard but is otherwise pretty solid, except the fan gets quite loud at higher powers. If you have a small form factor build and do not need huge power output this is an inexpensive option - much less than a 650W (or greater) SFX supply while still being reasonably efficient. If for any reason you need a fully wired design (I did, as I had no room for modular connectors) then this is almost your only option. So, as with most things do your research - you'll know if this PSU is right for your application - if it is, then it is a solid little supply.

FAULTY PSU DO NOT BUY!
PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS AND GO THROUGHTHE SAME PROBLEMS AS I HAVE! I am a PC proffesional over 10 years experience. I tried this new brand out Silverstone and it was the worst idea ever not only the cables and pins looked very off shape but the plugs in the back of the psu are extremely tight and narrow so you have to use more force then normal not to mention the 24 pin is so short if you have any GPU that is GTX series the 24 pin will not reach over the card from where it is placed no matter how big the ATX motherboard is as I had mini ATX and a standard size ATX. When I first went to power this up it never turned on and all I heard was 2 clicking noises inside the fan. This maybe a previous dodgey PSU and was sent to me by accident which I hope it was because for the price I wouldn't pay any more then £100. The company Silverstone from China and I highly recommend not buying this at all and stick to the decent brands you know best like Corsair.

Amazing SFX-L PSU.
I was wary of buying this after many complaints about noise for the V1.0 but it seems like they've done away with the hybrid mode and just have the fan constantly on but it spins at such a low RPM you cannot hear it over anything else.I'm all about low noise computing and this is definitely the most silent in my system (well apart from my SSDs).I have an i7-4790K paired up with a GTX970 and they draw a little over 250W from the wall at max load and this PSU never breaks a sweat and doesn't feel hot and never spins up, even in my lovely looking but poorly ventilated Jonsbo UM3X case.

As loud my fridge!
Great little psu if you don’t mind the noise, definitely considering changing out the fan for a quieter one as this is the loudest part of my itx rig.

Nice
It's a nice little psu the 40 mm fan does make just a tad bit more noise than a standard 80-120 mm one but with this I can throw the pc in a backpack and be on my way.

Silent PSU for ITX NAS
This is a great power supply for my new NAS/Media Centre. I have yet to hear the fan come on at all, the hard drives are the only thing I hear. It comes with a ATX adaptor, but this does not allow the PSU sit on the floor of my particular case, I bought the SilverStone SST-PP08 SFX to ATX PSU Converter - Black to solve this and you get a better clearing between the PSU and HDDs mounted above.System is:Fractal Node 304Asrock J4205-ITXSyba 4xSATA Expansion Card2x SSD (OS & Cache)6x 4TB HDD (Stablebit Drivepool)18w idle, 40w (drops as the unneeded drives turn off)
