1791 Gunleather 1911 Holster, Right Hand OWB Leather Gun Holster for Belts fits All 1911 Models with 4" and 5" Barrels

This holster is by far the best holster I have ever owned. I have been carrying a handgun both for personal reasons and professional reasons for 30 years and have at least 40 holsters to go with my collection of firearms. I cannot recall ever being this impressed with a holster. This holster fits my Springfield Armory Trophy Match perfectly. I could not ask for a better fit. The holster is made out of thick leather that is form fitted to the weapon and requires no break in time. The holster holds the weapon close to the body and is extremely comfortable.Some have written that this holster is good or excellent for the price point. Let's be clear -- this holster is an outstanding piece of craftsmanship and is under priced based upon what the current market offers for approximately $50.00. Most other holsters on the market at this price point are made with thin, flimsy leather that in most cases barely holds the weapon well or they are half holsters not covering the entire body of the weapon. This is a stout holster and covers the entire body of the weapon and looks good doing it. This holster would be a great deal at twice the price.After my 1911, my second favorite weapon to carry is an N frame S&W 44 magnum and I am waiting for 1791 to produce a holster for this revolver so I can buy that one too.Based upon my experience with this holster, if you need a holster for your 1911, then this is the one to buy. You will not need another.

Fits my Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 5” like it was custom made. Yes, it will require a break in. Yes it does take a bit of time but this is a very well made, custom like holster for less than 70 bucks! This will not be my last 1791 holster. Unlike a lot of leather holsters that require 2-hand reholstering this holster does not. The opening is nice and stiff. It’s not only a very functional holster it’s also a very handsome one.

Ordered the holster and mag carrier in vintage color for my Commander. Holster will fit a full-size 1911 so with my commander there is about 3/4 to an inch of holster past the end of the slide. No big deal since I also have a Govt size 1911 as well, now this same holster will fit both. Vintage color is pretty nice...mix of brown with some black. The leather is really thick and shaped for the gun already. Both pistol and magazines fit tight so there is going to be a break in period. Like others said...you could put a plastic bag around the gun and leave it inserted for a couple of days to stretch the leather but to me it's not too bad so I'm already carrying it all day. I'm sure in about a week or so it will be worked in and everything will slip in and out nicely while retaining the weapon and mags. Comfortable holster...got tired of kydex so going to start going back to leather on all my carry guns. If you shop around most holsters of this quality are pretty expensive so props to 1791 for being able to provide a quality leather holster at this price point. If I need another one I would not hesitate to order from them again and I probably will. Thinking about getting the matching belt next. Oh, one more thing to note...on both of my orders I got a really nice leather key chain that was included so that was cool of them to do that. I literally have no complaints.

I purchased this holster, almost a year ago, for my Belgium made Browning Hi-Power, which is my daily carry.Aside from where the pistol is slid in and out of the holster, multiple times on a daily basis (I store the pistol in a drawer at night while the holster stays on my belt), there are no signs of wear or softening of the leather. Everything is still very rigid and in the same form as when it arrived.As I recall, there was no break-in for it either, but that may be different for someone with a 1911 though, since the slide tends to be a tad bit taller--I don't own one, so it's just a guess.There is no active retention, which is fine for me, since it's always concealed under my jacket or coat, but when the pistol is seated in there, it's very snug. However, I would be concerned if someone where to hold me upside-down by my legs in an attempt to shake the lunch money from pockets, as the gun would surely come flying out.If I buy another leather pistol holster, it will again be a 1791 holster.

Pistol needs to be placed in plastic freezer bag and forced repeat forced into Holisters and left for 24 hours. Strange marketing but it works beautifully made, beautiful leather. Love the holister. Made in USA - cowhide leather - beautiful double stitching. Now that’s is broken in I love the 1791 leather holster.

Fantastic quality. Fit my 1911 perfectly with some standard leather break in. I’d say I’d buy again but with the exceptional quality I doubt I’ll need to.

I hesitated when thinking about purchasing this holster due to the priceI believed the price was too low for a quality holster since I had paid much more in the past for a good quality holster. I was wrong when I received itIt is a really, really quality holster and fits my 1911 perfectly. Don't hesitate if you're thinking about purchasing it ! Great product.

I am highly impressed with this product. Sturdy construction and looks great. Follow the instructions for the breaking in plans you be amazed at the fit and retention. Super impressed and I fully believe I have bought my last holster.
