Has anybody bought this who already owned a code reader. Did it provide any additional useful info?

No. Without the subscription you can only read and turn off your check engine light that's it. I don't know what turning off your check engine light is suppose to do for you because the problem is still there until you get it fixed. Paying a monthly or yearly subscription is insane. Remember this is only a Bluetooth interface between your car and your phone. You can always download another app from the app store, that's what I did. I downloaded an app called car scanner ELM OBD2 and it works just great and it's completely free. There are a lot to choose from at the app store. When you're trying to get it connected it will ask you for some kind of password or something which normally is either 0000 or 1234, I forgot which one of those I used.

Does this device/app seriously ask you for more money after you already bought it, in order to look up codes?

The IOS (Apple IPhone) app 'Car Scanner ELM OBD2' from the app store DOES work with FIXD. It did not ask me for a passcode, I did not have to give any identifying information and it did not hassle me for a subscription fee. (There are some advanced features you can pay for, and there is a small ad bar at the bottom of the screen while running the app). I was able to read a bunch of live data from my 2019 Ranger with very little setup, and was able to look at, and clear the 2 minor diagnostic codes it had. (I did not purchase the FIXD, it was gifted to me.)

Does it work with an iPhone?

The SmartPhone app (FREE download & no additional fees) works on Android or IOS (Apple iPhone) operating systems, but NOT on Windows based devices at present.

Can Fixd clear trouble codes and reset the light?

Yes! FIXD definitely lets you reset your check engine light. Once you scan your vehicle with the free FIXD App, you'll be able to see the codes present as well as a plain, English explanation then you'll also have the ability to clear your light.

Fixd fault code detector

Brilliant item its functionality is easy to use and it's size is brilliant as you can plug it in and it's not in the way when drive whilst it is fault code detecting definitely value for money and I would recommend this item and the seller

Scam?

Tried on my car ( Seat Ibiza) came up no issues after scan. Tried on my partners car( Hyundai I20) whilst tyre pressure warning light on. Came up no issues. Didn't recognise the warning light was on. After reading reviews, and my own experience, think this is a scam.

Didn’t work but refund no problem

This didn’t work on my Focus, Ford Fusion (US), or Mercedes Sprinter. The ports have been used by garages previously so were working. Only giving it three stars as I was fully refunded with no problems. Pity as I could have done with the fault diagnosis.
