Runs smoothly
I’m glad I bought it. I use it to sharpen lathe chisels; the slow speed works well for that. FYI:this isn’t a fake review. The only thing I wonder about is that the CBN wheel seems to take a little longer to start rotating than I expected; however, it quickly gets up to speed and rotates smoothly so I am quite pleased with it.

Poor construction
So loud at low speed that I needed ear protection just to try it out. Vibrated, and sounded like metal on metal grinding. Smelled like burning electrical components. I returned it. Don't waste your money.

1/2 HP is quiet and well built
This is a nice bench grinder for $115. Lot of power with 1/2 HP motor, led lights illuminate work area on the stone, variable speed is exactly what is needed on some jobs especially installing a wire wheel. From researching all brands, been looking at garage sales trying to find an old school Craftsman grinder I have for 40 years, this is about as close as I found great quality, affordable price probably last 30+ years

Good grinder and now I can grind drill bits and knives at a slower speed. Variable speed option is a valuable option.
