I received the strap clamp on Thursday evening. I needed to use it the next day. When Opened the box there were no instructions.. No problem I thought. Tried to unwind the strap. The strap would not move. I tried many times with no success. Went to their web site, selected setting up. The instructions in the third sentence said see the manual page.... Went to the website section for manuals - no strap clamp manual. Then called the 800 number and left a voice mail to call me at 11:00 AM Eastern time (they are in Eastern Canada). Next morning I fiddled with the clamp . After many more attempts it finally started to move. By now it is almost noon, so I called the Bessy 800 number. I eventually got to customer service. They hadn't heard my voice mail. C.S. didn't know about the manual. On hold, rep returned and told me there is no manual. She had no idea why the strap would not move. With that said I have been able to use the clamp. The strap requires an unusual amount of pulling for to move it in or out. This makes the set up awkward. Once I had overcome these obstacles, the clamp performed well.In another review a customer complained about a lack of clamp force. I found that after tightening the clamp and waiting about a 1/2 hour the strap had loosened. I retightened it 2 or 3 more times. I do not know if this is stretch or tensile creep or both.

There are cheaper strap clamps, but I needed something that would reliably hold epoxy without catastrophic leaking. This clamp does the job wonderfully. The photos show my makeshift form for circular epoxy pours. It has a wood bottom that's wrapped in epoxy tape. The siding is a piece of flexible landscape barrier. At the bottom of the barrier, there's a black strap. That's the Bessey clamp. I use silicone caulk to seal seems.When it first shipped, it was out of the package -- just loose in the box. While it upsets me when I get these sorts of packages, nothing was missing from the box. The handle can be used on either side for righties and lefties. There's a screw that holds the handle in place. I don't use the screw because I have needed to change where the handle is for different projects. When I first tightened the handle, it was awkward to reel in. There's not a lot of leverage. However, I keep the twisting handle -- the final tightening mechanism -- completely open. Once the strap is secure around the piece, twisting that handle applies so much pressure that I don't use screws or nails to keep the siding up. The 2nd photo shows my first (and only) leak. It happened because there was a tiny hole in the caulk. The pour still worked with that small hole.I love this clamp and will buy more in the future as I need them. I strongly recommend it.

Needed corner clamps for a large canvas frame that I am building 36x48 with mitered corners. I tried 2 different corner clamps prior to getting this and both did not work, just couldn't get a tight fit in the in the corners. This strap clamp by Bessey worked perfectly for my application. Super easy to use, large enough strap to easily fit and was able to get a perfect tight fit for all 4 corners. Highly recommended.

I was building a frame with dimensions over five feet in height and width. This is the only product I could find with the reach to accommodate that size. It didn't come with any instructions but no matter, I was up and running in a few minutes and assembling the frame. Very solid when tightened and a breeze to use
