Sony Official Case with Stand for Xperia 5 IV - XQZCBCQ/B Black

Nice, functionality for viewing the Sony in Landscape mode,as in watching videos or for the alarm clock mode. Not very stable for portrait mode, but otherwise great.

Bought this for my Xperia 5 iv. The product picture makes it look thicker and bigger, somehow, so I thought I was getting something rugged and nice, branded by Sony. I guess I didn't look carefully, because this case is like a phone bikini! It's really thin and offers almost no protective coverage whatsoever. The case lip on the front is barely above the line of the screen. It doesn't cover the sides at all where the buttons are and since I'm using it until I get a new case, it's not very comfortable to hold either. I can't believe I paid $40 to hate something this much. The edges dig into my hand after a short time making me not want to hold the phone at all. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the quality of the plastic is nice (a rough, nonslip type of thing without being rubbery) and the kickstand mechanism is top notch.

Bought my Xperia5IV directly from Sony in February '23 bought this case with it at the time it fits perfectly, it's very nicely made, The kickstand is very simple mechanism, it is just thick enough to protect the optics on the back, it protects the top and bottom while leaving the charging port and sides fully open, It's just textury and grippy enough to hold on to without being obnoxious and grabby, it covers the SD/SIM card tray so that won't accidentally pop out, has some sort of foam like material on the interior to support the back and cushion it slightly, it snaps on positively and won't come off unless you take it off but doesn't fight youThat said the kickstand does have a penchant for popping off if too much sideways pressure is applied like trying to manipulate the volume or power buttons while the kickstand is in landscape although it is usually a fairly simple pop back into place UNTIL the cross bar on the case itself breaks, mine lasted almost exactly 1 year before breaking breaking rendering the kickstand forever a separate piece, The protrusions on the front of the screen are proud of the screen but not enough for my particular preference to protect the screen but it's done a good enough job that there's nothing major on my glass, One of the corners may occasionally pop out but almost always unnoticeably so until you put your fingers on the phone there and it snaps back into place, I had to drill out the bezel around the 3.5 mm jack to accept one particular 3.5 mm speaker but to be fair it was an OLD PC speaker so that may be a nonissue, other than that it's a nice simple minimalist case made specifically for the phone I unfortunately have to buy another one because the lack of the kickstand makes It's only purpose to protect the Zeiss camera glass that is proud of the back of the phone
