Okay, I have burned through probably 4 food saver vacuum sealers in the last 6 years. I use them a lot, and they do not last for me. I did a lot of searching and read a lot of reviews before buying this one. So here are a few things that I find helpful in considering this model. First, it pulls a very strong vacuum. Much stronger than any of my food savers have. The gentle mode works like it should. The sealer has worked perfectly every time and the double seal is very nice since on my old models I always had to manually do a double seal. The unit does not take up much room on my counter top, and it's very easy to use. The support is responsive and answered my questions both before and after i purchased it.Now for the not as good. I don't care for the fact that the accessory hose disappears into the handle instead of having an exposed connector to the base. It seems soft and I worry that it may break in time and I will have to take the machine apart to fix it. Of course there is a 5 year warranty on the sealer so if that happens, I will just put in a warranty claim. Another issue I have is that the ad shows it having a silicone seal, but for the life of me the seal look like the exact same foam rubber on all of my food savers. Maybe it is silicone, maybe it's not. I do know that even with the foam looking seals it has, I have no intention of sending it back for a refund. I use this thing several times every week to vacuum seal pounds and pound of meat. Then again to seal leftovers for freezing to repurpose for future meal. I have been extremely pleased with it thus far.

Our previous vacuum sealer was starting to fail, so this product was to replace the old one. What a HUGE improvement! I love everything about this machine. Very high vacuum pump. Totally adjustable settings, plus it remembers previous settings so I don't have to press five buttons to repeat the whole process. Having a double sealing strip is a great advantage. The included hose is a nice touch for containers. This unit has a great duty cycle, meaning I can seal more bags per hour too! It would be a fabulous investment at 5 times the price!

My Food Vac 800 finally died after 20 yrs of lots of use! After researching I found the Mesliese food vacuum savers. All models had over an 80% rate of customers that would recommend! That's darn good! Besides the fact that it looks great in my kitchen, it was reasonably priced at $99 after $30 coupon. My old vac was that price! Many new models seem over-complicated. This display board has everything needed yet very simple. It works great. Bag cutter worked fine and easy to use. I did love my old vac whiched you just pulled out the amount of bag needed, sealed abd cut. Minor. I only had one issue with sealing the bottom of the new bag. If it is not perfectly straight I got a poor seal. Just place it in chamber close, pull each end to side gently and lock lid. Seal. I used it with provided bags and my old bags bought off Amazon and worked well. I always double sealed my bags but tjis does it in 1 step! Awesome! Off switch would be nice also. But any of my issues are very minor and consider it well worth the money!They mention in Q&A it should be unplugged when not in use but my plug goes behing the fridge. Unless there is a significant constant power draw this should not be an issue. Microwave is always plugged in...

Picture it, a small suburb in Maryland, a small house planning a large Christmas party for about 25 people. The menu has cooked carrots, brisket, pork enchiladas, pasta, rice, polenta you name! Then the patriarch of the family becomes quite ill. The party has to be postponed hours before it is set to begin. This is when I turn to Amazon for a vacuum sealer that could arrive same day or next day. I received this vacuum sealer first thing the next morning. Everything that would freeze well such as the carrots, the meat, the ravioli, the cheese, etc. was all vacuum sealed. We spent well over $600 on all the food for the party, and now we are going to be able to use it all in a month when we re-host the party. The vacuum sealer worked great. The dried raviolis sealed so tight. The meats and vegetables that were already cooked froze beautifully. Everything is going to taste as fresh as the day we made it. The use of the vacuum sealer was easy and clean. This is the third vacuum sealer I’ve owned. The first two being Foodsavers, and this far surpasses the other ones I’ve owned. The unit is not too big. It has a moist and dry setting. This was great when freezing the carrots and the brisket. It was able to suck the air out without pulling the moisture from the carrots and the beef. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

To be called a vacuum sealer, a device must:1. Extract air from the bag.2. Heat seal the bag3. Optionally, store a roll of bags, and possible include a cutter.This thing performs 1 adequately enough, and does in fact perform the optional functions of 3 also.However, it does not succeed at 2, heat sealing the bags. At best, it manages something that looks like a double row heat seal, but rapidly leaks. At worst, it makes burning smells, blisters the plastic, and melts holes in the bag. Only luck determines which you get on any given attempt.Since this device cannot perform one of the necessary functions to be a vacuum sealer, it isn't one. Do not buy this if you want a functional vacuum sealer. If instead, you would like some postmodern art interpretation of a vacuum sealer, this may be your jam.
