These capsules came in a handy self-seal pouch. They provide the Vitamin E in a powder form, rather than the usual oil suspension form. I found this quite odd as Vitamin E is fat soluble and requires fats to be present to enable digestion...The dosage of 400 IU (268mg) is the usual dosage found in many Vitamin E supplements. That’s well above the Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) of 4mg(~6 IU) quoted by the NHS. NRV used to be known as RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance)...The packaging suggests taking one a day with water. I’ve been taking them for a couple of months as recommended. I have been taking them with a meal so that the vitamin E has the necessary fat to aid digestion. I rarely take singular vitamins and minerals as it’s sometimes easy to get too much of certain nutrients, and instead prefer to get them as they naturally occur in powders and normal foodstuffs. However, for whatever reason that has been lost to me over time I’ve regularly taken vitamin E at this strength. I mention this because at 2233 of %NRV it seems an excessive amount. All I can say is that with regular periodic runs over the years I haven’t suffered any ill effect with taking this dosage. However, please note that vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin which gets stored in the body over time so caution needs to be exercised when taking it. Like everything else though I tend to take things for a while and then leave them for a while, before coming back to them again, which is probably a reasonably sensible approach to taking nutrients. I certainly seem to have benefited from the vitamin E though, as its probably been a contributing factor to my general good health over the years. Of course, I can’t claim it exclusively but it must have had at least some beneficial effect. How other people will fare, I couldn’t possibly say, but if going down this route then this supplement is as good a way as any of taking vitamin E as it’s in the absorbable alpha tocopheryl form and free from additives.Normally, I take vitamin E as softgels, whereas these are capsules. I’m not sure if they have advantages or disadvantages over softgels, but getting 90 one-a-day capsules for the current price of £5.99 isn’t bad at all, especially as I’m currently taking this supplier’s L-Trytophan supplement which works a treat for me.
