A nice little product that you can use or have as a shelf piece. I have timed the accuracy of the sand and it’s off by a few seconds, but not too bad.It’s functional looks great and it’s nice and compact in size. It’s not too big that it becomes a burden and an eyesore and is not too small that you can’t find it again.The timer is in one minute, three minute and five minute increments. The wood construction feels a little bit flimsy, but I’m not expecting solid oak or mahogany anyway on a small item like this. It’s a good price regardless.

I like the idea of a sand-filled hourglass times - a bit of retro from all the electronic dingers and beepers. It's made of nice, natural wood and I think the idea of the three sand colours is quite stylish. It has '1 min 3 min 5 min' printed on both ends so, whichever way up you have it , you can see. For the kitchen, it's probably more decorative than functional because, apart from a 3 minute boiled egg, I'm not quite sure what you'd use it for. But it is an attractive little thing.I like the idea of using it for young children, to help them gain a better concept of time. If you say 'bedtime in 5 minutes', you can turn the hourglasses over and the kids have a visual of the time ticking past. No arguments over whether 5 minutes is up or not!
