BEST $16 I have ever spent!
This little gadget is amazing. We found some old sides in an abandoned building and wanted to restore them. They are 1950 images that are turning red and are covered in dirt and mold. I did not even clean this one, just wanted to test it out. See the photos. Absolutely amazing! So easy to use. The app in the instructions is working great on an iphone 12. I then put the image in Photoshop and you can see just some quick adjusting made this slide unbelievable. The 2nd image is from a larger than 35 mm slide so I will scan it in sections and put it together in photoshop (I do wish this had adjustments for larger formats). You can see the phone photo is amazing compared to the slide and this is no correction done to it yet. We are truly blown away and so glad I gave this a chance! Not sure how much better the $100+ slide scanners available on Amazon would be, but on a tight budget and wanting to get this done quick, I have found exactly what I need. Plus better than my flatbed scanner for quality/detail and all you have to do is place a slide on the light square, position your photo, use the app to take the image, then move on a new slide. You could knock out sides very quickly to do batch photos and color correct later. The App does have color correcting features that I am sure would help, but i have not tried them so far because I'm a professional designer with Photoshop and I know how great that can do with images. So not sure I will use that feature in the app.So if you are wondering... get it! So totally worth it for ease, quality output and speed. If you had a stack of slides, you could photograph them all quickly and then go back and take the time to crop and edit.

Compact and easy to use
It is a great little device. It is will designed with the ability to raise or lower the upper platform by changing out the two sets of risers, which are included. I scanned hundreds of negatives very quickly. It was very easy to slide the negatives through the plate and over the light. The only problem which I encountered was some of the negatives were curved and the guide tabs wouldn’t hold them flat. The software crashed occasionally and really needs more thorough instructions.

Great Film Scanner with better than expected results for the cost.
The KLIM K2 Film Scanner arrived in a black and silver box packaged like a high-end product. My first impression was to verify I received the correct product.Once unwrapped and batteries inserted (batteries included), I turned on the power and note that if in a low light room, the light is extremely bright. After snapping the top to the base, the scanner was ready to go. Simple two-piece scanner, foldable and made of durable plastic with rubber mat to keep cell phone in position. The bottom of scanner has a semi rubber base to keep from sliding of the work area. Downloaded the Kodak app as suggested and ready to go.The instructions say to turn the scanner on and then insert film. I found it difficult to insert the film strip with the light blinding me. Inserting the film first then turning the scanner on worked out better. Once I aligned the cell phone which is not a new phone S10Plus. I was able to align the cellphone and use the screen to enlarge the photo to fit the area. Before saving I played with the settings to see what enhanced the photo quality since the negatives were extremely old (around 40 years old). To my amazement the photos turned out better than expected. I thought I had lost these memories forever. It takes time to scan each negative one by one, but everyone wants big $ to scan them digitally and the possibility of losing them in the mail is worth the time. The scanner doesn't actually scan but reflects the image so that your cell phone camera captures the picture. I have purchased a few other converters that used the computer or very bulky. I found them to be very complicated and frustrating. They KLIM K2 scanner is small and portable which I take back and forth where ever I go. No electrical cords or wires to plug in. I didn't have any real issues with pixilation since I don't plan on making giant reprints. For such a simple well-made scanner it is amazing.

Does not work
I downloaded the app in the manual and it didn’t work. The app for slides is 3days free then $40/yr, the app for film strip negatives is free for 3 days then $30/yr. Yes. You have to buy 2 different apps if you have slides and negatives. It’s very well made and a great idea, but the picture attached shows that the device doesn’t work. I had to return it.

Good Value
I just started developing my own film and wanted a cheap way to scan my negatives to take a look at the results without dropping hundreds of dollars on a real scanner. This more than met my expectations! Very simple device and obviously not made of very quality materials, but the value is very good for the price. My negatives look very good. I haven't tried the app yet and may not even bother. I just take the picture with my normal phone camera (Google Pixel 6), transfer to my computer and then invert and make any edits using Gimp.I will note that I'm just doing black and white here so currently can't speed for color results.

It basically works, but you get what you pay for.
I was very lucky. As I began struggling with this device, at work, a coworker asked me what I was doing. He went on to say he'd bought a $200 slide scanner (from Amazon), offered to let me borrow it. No. Comparison.Aside from very marginal image quality, I'll note one other bad feature (at least for me). I am primarily interested in scanning slides, not negatives. This device might work well with negatives, but with slides, you have to be careful to position the slide just so. That's far from optimal, from an ease-of-use standpoint.
