The TARDIS of notebooks
If you need a notebook that can hold an impossibly huge amount of writing in a light, compact package, you need to try one of these MUJIs. They are the Tardis of notebooks: bigger on the inside than on the outside. They have twice the number of pages of a comparable Moleskine or Leuchtturm1917 notebook and yet, because of the lightweight covers, they weight much less. And, as other reviewers have noted, the covers are certainly light weight--heavier than typical notebook paper but much lighter than typical cover stock. If you throw your notebooks in a bag with your work boots and a Pabst, you will need to find or make a more protective cover, or at least buy one of those big notebook rubber bands (I think JetPens sells them). The paper is extremely smooth and thin but durable. It is a little more translucent than typical notebook paper. It's comparable to the paper in a Hobonichi planner or a Leuchtturm1917 unruled notebook. I prefer plain (unruled) notebooks like these MUJI's because I can't find sufficiently narrow ruled paper. In fact, I use the grid guide from an old Leuchtturm1917 plain notebook as a writing guide in my MUJI. In fact, I scanned and shrank it so I can cram even more writing in.The only notebook I've encountered that is comparable is the Seven Seas journal from Nanami Paper. The Seven Seas is definitely better constructed, is made with actual Tomoe River paper (a cult paper for good reason), and comes with extras, like a nice selection of reusable covers, and blotting paper for you fountain pen users. They are more expensive, and are worth it. I'm working my way through a couple of Seven Seas notebooks and will certainly buy more. But I will also be buying more of these MUJIs, because they are such an outstanding value.

Versatile notebook
This is a very versatile and interesting little notebook. I keep it on my desk to do spontaneous artwork in. I have used pens, colored pencils, markers, acrylic paint, gouache and watercolor all to good effect. The paper is thin, very smooth and strangely strong at the same time. Yes, it did crinkle when I put too much water on it but not too badly as it flattened back up. It did excellently with gouache and acrylic paint. I even used oil pastels! If you want an inexpensive notebook that you won't feel precious about using, get this one and put it on your desk or carry it around to capture any artistic ideas that pop into your head.

Plain and Simple
I have to say that when I got this book I thought that it was a large sized unruled book, but it turned out to be a medium sized one. I can't complain though, because I will have a lot of fun just writing in this blank journal, especially when I use some fountain pens on the paper. What the other reviews say about the paper being thin is true. It is thin, but it isn't composition notebook thin. I plan on using some Pilot Varsity pens on the pages to see if there will be any feathering, bleed through, or ghosting.

Have realistic expectations
The price on Amazon is notably higher than normal retail but even then I don't think it's a ton. To expect this to be suitable for fountain pens (most notebooks aren't) is unrealistic and not what this is designed for or advertised as. This is a small sketching style book, pencil optimal as well as ballpoint pen. When you use the product as designed, it's a great smooth paper notebook. Thin enough for tracing or rubs, gets tons of pages in, but still quality paper given how thin it is. Superior to most cheap American notebooks. Also most of the low ratings are from terrible packaging by sellers that causes damage, so don't let that dissuade you from buying one elsewhere. If you want Muji notebooks, get them from Muji themselves or Amazon dealers with a well supported reputation.

quality .
Once I start writing on this note, I can't stop. The letters fly. The feeling of writing is different. It is good paper.

Beauty in the Ordinary
I don’t want to write in it. It’s aesthetically the most beautiful notebook that I have ever bought. Simple but rich in so many ways. I own plenty of expensive notebooks and this is the best hands down. Now, I must get past the hurdle and use it!

Good size, bad paper
I bought this for sketching and I love the size and color of it but the paper is very smooth almost like a plastic texture so not great for sketching since there’s no texture

Good
I'm surprised this came undamaged as it had no protection in the packaging whatsoever. It came with amazon's plastic bag x1 item. No damage on the corners where you would expect there would be considering no protection.10/10. I like this kind of notebooks. Soft to bend and compact. Will be using this to write out new concepts and things I observe from day to dayEdit: After using this for a month. The cover begin show signs of wear and wrinkle and easily damaged by water drops.I bought 2 more of these. I write on this notebook with spacepen. Sure it makes imprints but the quality and feel of this paper is too good that i don't mind the imprints. Even moleskines leave imprints. Although I don't recommend fountain pen. but for my purpose, this notebook is perfect. The imprint isn't that bad if you write fast cursive and light pressure. I write fast cursive so the imprint is minimal.
