Hopefully I can shed some light on these swim caps. They are sewn out of normal swimwear fabric. There were no labels of any type on the swim caps or packaging so I don't know what the fabric is made of. Mystery fabric! Typically swimwear fabric is about 80 percent nylon and 20 percent spandex and I am guessing that this is what they are. I could not perceive any sort of coating on the inside - they are made of three pieces of swimwear fabric with standard overlocked seams.Also, since I recently received them I can't comment on how they hold up in chlorine at the YMCA pool over the months. Some swimwear fabric is more chlorine resistant than others.OK, so how are they as a swim cap? They are actually great and fit an adult just fine - not too loose and not too tight. Since they are swimwear fabric, the caps are easier to dry compared to the rubber style swim cap, which is always a challenge to dry. There is an elastic band sewn in the edge, that coupled with the stetchy fabric and swim googles kept them on during laps.The swim caps were individually wrapped in plastic and had a cardboard form inside each cap. On my red cap there was a slight bit of dye transfer to the white cardboard. I washed the caps before wearing and paid attention to the laundry water - there was no visible dye in the wash water - all was good! I received 3 black caps and 4 random color caps. Note that there is no guarantee that each of the random colors you get will be unique. I received two of the same color.

I'm a long time swimmer, and I don't really like your usual swim caps. I have fine hair, so they often can pull my hair, or even slide off my head altogether, or be so tight it gives me a headache. These arrived and if I did not know they were swim caps, I wouldn't have thought they were. They are a normal stretchy fabric, and sewn almost more like a skull cap. I am pleasantly surprised by these. Since they are more stretchy, they go on easily and are not at all tight, but also don't move or come off at all while I am swimming. I have been testing these out swimming laps and even with flip turns, they aren't coming off and my hair wasn't coming out or being pulled. I am not sure how good these would be for aerodynamics for racing, but for practice or casual swimming for fitness they are a big improvement over your standard silicone cap.
