To much athletic training means lots of smelly Tees and shorts. This stuff really works.Wish they solid it on dissolvable sheets so as not to use a plastic bottle like my other detergent. Jensen 4 stars

We’ve tried so many different detergents and combinations in an effort to fully de-stink my active family’s clothes and gear. I partially blame our washing machine—the water saving feature all the new ones have has clothes barely agitating in not-enough water, some clothes still above the waterline of what’s essentially dirt soup. What works for us is to wash everything on the bedding setting (solved the not-enough water issue), and set them all to extra rinse. Some stinkier loads also get the soak setting. I also like the spray by this company and super-gross stuff gets a spritz at the pits before tossing in the laundry bin. (Possibly unnecessary since my 10 year old son never does this and his stuff somehow comes out odor-free.) But otherwise, unless it’s whites to which I’ll also add a scoop of Oxi-clean, all we need is this detergent to be successful in odor removal. I’ve even stopped adding Funk Rock Ammonia Bouncer. For stains (even old ones), I’d highly recommend Puracy’s pre-treater. It’s miraculous. I don’t love the bottle/cap design of this product, but it’s not a huge deal and since this product has solved a long-standing issue for us, I can’t bring myself to take a start away for that. Oh also, we aren’t folks who like heavily scented detergents like again, etc. We find the scent of this one “just right”—fresh, light, barely there but a little something. Mostly we just smell it while the washer is going and not really once clothes are dry.

This is the best I’ve used thus far, it gets the smell out of old musty shirts. It also leaves the laundry smelling wonderful.

Too expensive for not doing what it claims.1. “no masking with fragrance” I put a workout shirt in a water bucket with the recommended amount of this, and left it to soak while I went grocery shopping. When I returned home, I opened the door and the fragrance hit me in the face! It was so strong! It’s a nice scent, but WAY too strong!2. “Gets the funk out” After soaking and washing the aforementioned shirt in the wash, AND doing an extra rinse cycle, not only could I still smell the “funk” straight out of the washer, but the fragrance was still too much.I’ve been searching for something that removes deodorant residue from my workout shirts.Here’s why the “funk” is a thing:When you heat up, the oils in your deodorant “melt” (especially if you wear natural deodorant).Your sweat-odor mixes with that “melted” deodorant, and attaches to the fabric (think like pouring melted wax on your shirt and then it re-hardens).Because there are no detergents that remove oil, the odor-infested deodorant stays, even after washing. The result is, you put a freshly washed shirt on your freshly showered body, and as soon as it heats with your body, the body odor that was trapped with the deodorant from your last workout “activates,” like when you light a candle, and the scent is released, except you’re releasing body-stink instead of sandalwood—not what you were going for.I’m still on the search! This product is not the answer.
