Works well, like the base.
This wetstone seems to work well. The thickness should last for years. The rubberized holder/base makes it safer to use (you really don't want movement under you when you have sharp knife in hand). I would probably recommend you buy one of the ones that comes in an actual case, but baring that recommendation, this is a nice stone.

Good and inexpensive.
It's a whetstone. It sharpens blades. It's cheap and large enough for anything I can think of. It's around 3.5" wide, 7.5" long, 3/4" thick. I honestly wonder what people are doing who say "it's small" lol. All I wanted was a whetstone to sharpen my EDC knives, which doesn't need to be done all that often, and I wasn't trying to spend a large amount of money just for that. This item delivers at a low cost.

Not the longest lasting.
This is not the longest lasting sharpening stone out there, but the price is relatively low, so that helps to make up for it.This 1000 grit stone is what you want to finish your knife edge after you've already sharpened it with a lower grit stone such as a 400-600 grit. This is not a sharpening stone that is meant to be used by itself, so keep that in mind or else it will take you all day long to get a knife sharp with it.I do like the rubber base they included with it. All sharpening stones should include something like this with them to help keep them from sliding around when you are using them. I have a stone holder and didn't really need it, but it's good that they included it for those that do need it.This is a water stone so you will need to soak it in water for a few minutes before use. I like water stones because the cleanup is much easier than with oil stones. You will also need a way to flatten the stone for when it dishes out and becomes uneven. You can either get a flattening stone or a diamond stone for this purpose. While this isn't the best quality stone I've seen, it's cheap in price, so that makes up for it. Not too bad of a deal for the money.

Nice big & flat. Just a usual item though
Whetstones are a pretty usual item. It soaked up water and I sharpened an old knife on it & it got a bit smoother after using it a few times, which was slightly disappointing. The knife came up as it usually does for 1000 grit. Enough to cut paper but not paper towel cut sharp, which is good enough for most purposes. The nice thing about this item is that this is flat and good for quick sharpening for slightly dull knives.Definitely would need a resurfacing stone around after each sharpening as the reside tends to embed itself into the stone surface, which is not really bad but not really good either.
