I got this to use in a recipe I got from a you tube video
Agar Agar Powder Organic - 4oz Vegan Gelatin Substitute, 100% Pure Agar Thickener for Cooking and Petri Dishes, Jams - Rich in Dietary Fiber Gelatin Stabilizer for Jelly, Desserts, Vegan Cheese, CandyFirst impressions: Nice jar full of powder. There’s little to no smell.Installation/setup: Use as a thickener for cheeses, jellies, jams, etc.Final thoughts: I got this to use in a recipe I got from a you tube video. If you search for Anneliese Klotz - Art and her video for making a vegan gelli plate made from Agar agar. I used it as she suggested and made a gelli plate for myself. There is enough powder in the jar for more than one plate. I like this and I’m glad I got it.⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

Contaminated bottle - did not use
I am SO grateful to another reviewer who posted that there was a fingerprint inside the bottle that she got. I was about to open up the bottle and use it. I turned the bottle around and lo and behold, there's a fingerprint inside the bottle I received as well. The bottle is still sealed. The powder is sticking to every other part of the inside of the bottle, but it looks like the oils on the fingerprint are repelling the powder. Part of the fingerprint is just a bare spot, but at the top I can see the actual whorls and lines on the fingerprint so I'm sure that it's not just a weird spot caused during the manufacturing of the bottle. I am throwing this away and if that's the kind of safety standards YumCraft has (not even a glove print but a fingerprint???), I intend to stay far away from their products in the future. That's hoping that I can tell which products they make because there's barely any info on the company online. No idea how many names they're putting products out under.

Great for homemade gummies!
YumCraft Agar Agar powder organic 4oz vegan gelatin substitute 100% pure thickener for cooking jams jelly desserts candy. Best by 10/2029, 4 years out. This arrived like new in its own box with plenty of inner and outer security seals.I got this to make the viral 3-ingredient gummy bears recipe(molds also from Amazon) and they turned out great! I was shocked how quickly it sets! Here’s the recipe if you want to give it a whirl;1 cup any fruit juice of your choice(I found acidic options ie lemon, orange etc are best)2 tsps Agar Agar powder2-3 tblspns sweetener (you can use sugar, maple syrup, honey, or stevia etc)In a small saucepan, place juice, sweetener, and Agar Agar powder. Make sure to stir to dissolve sweetener fully in liquid before adding agar agar. Then stir again to make sure there’s no lumps. Bring to a boil then remove from heat after boiling for 1 minute and let mixture cool in a separate bowl. The original recipe says to do this for 5-10 minutes. I didn’t need to wait that long as it started to set-up on me within 5 minutes. (However, it is winter time where I live and very cold outside currently so perhaps that was a factor.) You just don't want the gummy bear mixture to be scalding hot when you pour it into your molds! But not cool enough that it starts to harden completely etc. Using a dropper, fill the little bears with liquid until the each mold is full. I got 2 panels full, but could’ve made 4 had it not solidified on me so fast. Transfer molds to the fridge and let harden for 10-20 minutes. (Again, I didn’t need to wait that long as the mixture set in my gummy bear molds in 5 min or less.)Overall, I’m glad I got this product and found it very easy and fun to try! I can’t wait to make more gummy products in the future.

Possibly expired?
I'm not sure if this is just a poor product or if I got a bad one. I couldn't get the powder to stop clumping despite following the directions to a T. The recipes I tried never set properly and I later noticed that my container had a bit of an off smell. I was excited because it's hard to find agar agar at local stores but this one is going in the green bin.

Great for vegan cooking
Agar agar powder is a great vegan alternative to gelatin. It works as well as gelatin and it does not add any smell to the dishes as it is neutral. However, it does impact a slight sweet seaweed taste to it. This is 100% pure agar powder and a great thickening agent. This is especially great for people making keto soups and dishes.

Good Product, But Would Have Liked More Information on the Jar
The agar agar powder works well in my recipes, and I appreciate its versatility as a vegan substitute for gelatin. It’s great for a variety of dishes, and I like that it’s made from 100% pure seaweed, fitting a wide range of dietary needs, if you want a product made in the US this isn't it. However, I do wish the jar itself had more detailed information, rather than just the box thank goodness I realized before I tossed it to make things less cluttered. It would be nice to have instructions or usage tips directly on the container for easy reference while cooking instead of making the box gross or having the clutter. Overall, it's a solid product, but that small improvement would make it more user-friendly.
