So happy to not have to buy a new iPod. Installation is tricky and it will mess up the case edges from prying to get it open but it comes with a little rubber case so you won't notice. Went from an iPod that would only work when plugged in to normal use in 20 frustrating minutes. Worth the hassle. I would also say you'll need some small metal tools to install like a small screwdriver. The plastic ones included don't help much.

I can't speak to the quality of the battery because I never got close to getting the Ipod case open. There were no instructions included with the battery, but I checked out several on-line videos until I was comfortable that I knew how to open the classic Ipod. Unfortunately, the tools provided are nowhere near up to the task. The four plastic tools in the kit all broke almost immediately. The metal pry bar was not sturdy enough and quickly bent. I could not manage to get close to opening up the Ipod, but did manage to scratch and gouge the case. If you are going to attempt this yourself, you'd be wise to seek out some tools that are up to the task.

First of all, I'm really proud of myself that I was able to change the battery all by myself...Jokes aside, this is a good product!The tools were really helpful, it took me about 20 minutes to remove the cover, I followed the instructions and then reassembled it, and the battery works really fine!

Forget the cheap plastic tools they send. You're paying for the battery itself. That said, you're getting your money's worth. Just use a standard flathead screwdriver, carefully pop it open a little at a time, and voila! The "tools" they sent broke the instant I tried to slip them into the iPod. They're worthless.But I am extremely happy with the new battery. My 8 year old classic iPod just got a new lease on life! I have 20,000 songs filling my 160 GB iPod, and it couldn't hold a charge for more than an hour or two of listening. NOW it's as good as new (except for a few dings where I had to pry it open). I'm very satisfied, but opening this thing is a huge pain, and impossible with the little tools they send you.

I love my Ipod. This new battery is a God send! My first time opening an Ipod, it was an adventure. I take my music with me everywhere I go. Battery life was terrible, needed a new battery. I ordered a new one, best thing I ever did! The tools to open the Ipod was so needed. I'm so happy I got a new battery! Great purchase!

The tools are horrible! I wound up having to pay for the ipod to get fixed. Save your money.

Tools were flimsy and not very useful.
