I purchased this cable because it was advertised as compatible with Cisco, Huawei, Juniper, and other network devices, and that it worked with multiple operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux). Unfortunately, my experience was far from what was promised.Pros:• The cable’s build quality and flat design seemed durable and convenient for storage.• The product description was detailed, and the advertised 6-foot length would have provided flexible setup options.Cons:• Despite the claims of plug-and-play compatibility, the cable produced only gibberish when connected to my Cisco switch.• The cable is advertised as using the PL2303 chip for stable serial communication, yet it completely failed to establish a proper console connection.• I attempted the connection on both Windows and Mac, and in every case, the output was unintelligible.• The product is extremely misleading; it does not work as a Cisco console cable despite all the advertised features.Overall, I was very disappointed. The cable did not meet the advertised compatibility requirements, and I ended up returning it. Save yourself the trouble and look for a proven, reliable Cisco console cable.

As a console leads it works well on normally laptops but unfortunately in our work we have to use the ftdi chips with the specific driver and this does not work on our site, the PC doesn't seem a ftdi chip on board so doesn't make a secure connection.

I only need to connect to my router once in a blue moon, and this USB to RJ45 cable does exactly what I need. Since modern laptops no longer come with RJ45 ports, having a cable like this—USB on one end and RJ45 on the other—is super handy. It’s straightforward, and for my light use (once or twice a year), it gets the job done without any fuss. Definitely does what it’s supposed to!
