Grim, yet beautiful!
I am absolutely blown away by this deck! The cards are sturdy and they shuffle nicely, and the artwork is absolutely stunning. It's a very surreal approach to some of the classic tarot themes and archetypes. The guide pamphlet gives insight into each card without giving you 2+ pages of minute details (which is why I don't use most other guidebooks, because I want to form my own opinions of a reading). The readings I've done with this deck have been very moving, and I connect with this deck on a deep spiritual level. It helps me dive into the darker side of my life's influences and challenges, which I can't always do with more "positive" or "upbeat" decks.Ultimately, this is an ideal deck for those who want something darker (while still paying homage to the traditional tarot themes).

Dark Deck
This deck often calls to me during the waning moon. It is very honest and cares about what you need more than what you want. I always feel like it's a dark humored joke being told, like a trickster at play. The artwork lends to the trickster simile, very abstract and unsettling at times.Would recommend this deck to anyone who enjoys when the world sleeps.

Gorgeous, great quality
Look great, feel great. Good quality. I love the art. The booklet that comes with them is small. Now that I have seen the cards I will definitely order the larger illustrated book to complete the set.

One of my favorite decks
This deck is beautiful and I recommend to any and all tarot readers. I first saw this deck when a friend of mine was teaching me how to read tarot and I loved the complexity of the imagery of this deck! It challenges you just enough. The card stock is really nice, not too thin or slick. I bought these cards used and the box is the only tarot box that hasn't fallen apart on me. These cards are super special and a real game changer when it comes to reading tarot. I recommend

Great deck all-around.
The imagery is stunning and appropriate but the cards are a little light. That hasn't been any impediment yet, though, and the cards are holding up nicely. The booklet that comes with the deck is a little vague and another resource is needed for any good interpretation. Shouldn't be a problem for a seasoned reader. Overall, I get great satisfaction working with this deck.

Great deck. Get the borderless version.
This deck is so well done that I love it *despite* not connecting with the theme. Each card is unique and rich and draws you in, even if you don't like the world of cartoon horror and moon people Valenza has depicted. And yet I don't really know if it would entirely work without the theme. One of the interesting aspects of the various cards is how at times, characters have different numbers of legs, arms, breasts, etc. than a human would, and especially, different types of fingers. I'm not sure how well that would work in a deck without a little lighthearted surreal horror. So many cards just have fascinating symbolism, yet this deck actually fits very well with more traditional interpretations. I really feel like this deck is a step forward in understanding Tarot.I'm disappointed that I got the "classic" version instead of the "borderless" - Valenza corrected some details in the borderless edition which he had overlooked in the original. They may seem slight but they're mistakes, not just oversights.
