Dunar - Brown Premium Basmati Rice (Nutritia), 10 Lbs

This has been the best brown basmati rice I have ever had! It is fantastic in taste, texture, and aroma. I have often had brown basmati rice that has a “grassy” taste with no true basmati aroma. With that said, if one is not familiar with the aroma of basmati rice, they may be thrown off as “regular” brown and white rice has none at all. I highly recommend Dunar.

I buy this brand over and over. It's consistently excellent. It smells and tastes like a whole food. It makes a very satisfying meal or side dish or whatever. I am not an adventurous or very good cook but I try my best. The top of the bag has a resealable mechanism that I always seem to mess up. It's a little small for my hand so I end up using a resealable plastic tub for storage.

I've never had brown Basmati before and it is perfect. Not sticky, a little nutty tasting. I'm puttig it on Subscribe and Save.But... the bag. On first glance, it is a beautiful bag. Seriously. Prettiest rice bag ever. Cool little rope handles and a slider zipper (which, in theory, is awesome on a bag with this much rice). But when I went to open it, there is an inner seal that you have to cut and then you realize that the zipper is ABOVE the holes for the ropes. So zipping it shut doesn't really close it, because you still have 4 grommeted holes below the zipper. I swear I looked at it, pondered, held the bag in different positions, pondered some more. Finally, figuring I was an idiot, I showed my family and they confirmed that I wasn't somehow missing the right way to open the bag. So, bottom line is that the rice is delicious, I'm going to keep getting it, and I guess I'm buying a resealable container big enough to hold 10 pounds of rice.

Have ordered this several times. Great price and consistently top tier quality. When we're low I just use buy again; no need to shop for anything else.

We have purchased this rice many times. Took a little time to figure out the ratio and the way to cook it (I use 6 cups of boiling water to 3.5-4 cups of rice and cook uncovered for 20-22 min until all the water is absorbed; then cover with the lid and take off the heat for 10 minutes then fluff it up.)Really like how fluffy it is and like the bag it comes in for storage. It was the cleanest rice.This time, however, the rice is full of bugs. See photos. Unfortunately, there is no way to wash them out as not all of them float during rinsing and some remain with the rice during the cooking process. Not sure if I would purchase it again. Too bad!

smells good tastes good

This item contains ordinary brown rice in the name of brown basmati rice. There is no flavor or scent of real basmati rice. Previously, I purchased the same item directly from an Indian grocery store with half of the Amazon price and the rice was full of flavor and scent that could be felt from another room while cooking. Amazon should take actions against these type of sellers who are damaging the goodwill of Amazon.

I bought this rice for my household. It is better than I thought it wood be. I made a 2 cup batch as soon as the rice was delivered in my rice maker. I was amazed how firm and delicious it was. My wife doesn't care for any brown rice but she love this Dunar Nutritia Brown Basmati Rice, Himalayan. Thank you for the fantastic product.
