My daughter loved her Chia Kitten -- not as much as she would have loved a real kitten, but this one didn't poop in my loafers.My daughter read the instructions, put tons of seeds on the Chia Kitten in big clumps (which the instructions say not to do), and then waited. In a few days the seeds started to germinate and, in a week or two (time flies when you are watching "fur" grow on a terracotta cat), the Chia Kitten was a veritable garden of chia. The Chia Kitten has now lost its fur and is sadly back in the box with the remaining seeds. (Enough for at least 2 or 3 more growings.)

Such cute gifts! We ordered these for my young nieces and they’re so adorable. The kit came with everything they need to grow their Chia pets. This also arrived on time with no damages.This package did appear to be minimally damaged. Just beat up. Disappointed upon seeing this, I check everything inside and the Chia pet was fine. All items were accounted for. It’s a gift anyways so it will be wrapped in pretty paper.

Okay, Christmas and all is done...what to do that has very little effort for January? Well our family has a Chia Pet contest. I bought several as did my family and we Start on January 2, ending on the 30th. Who ever gets the longest seedling wins... and we post them on Facebook for all to see. Try it low key fun to banter back and forth while its growing. Each person tries to figure out what food is better and how much lite and its an annual thing now. The seller has great variety...

Bought this to grow green sprouts for my little parrot. Chia seeds are very high fat, which my parrot is not supposed to have, but the process of sprouting the seed changes the chemistry and eliminates the fat. She needs greens and hope she will like this. If so I will get another so she can always have a fresh batch to nibble on.

When a new grandbaby arrived, I had Chia Pets sent to the older grandchildren as a little something special just for them. They were so happy with them, and said that the seeds sprouted fast. I had searched in the local stores for Chia Pets and could not find any. Amazon.com came to the rescue as always. Thank you so much.

I know I'm no green thumb. But dayum! I can't even grow a Chia Pet?!I bought this for my son for Christmas and the seeds just won't grow. It's a joke. I'm guessing the seeds date back to 1980 or something. I can't understand how else I would be failing to miserably.I was hoping it would be a fun thing. I should have just taken a $20 bill and lit it on fire. At least that would be fun to watch.

What else can I say? Classic Chia pet. Comes with more than enough seeds to get a good covering. The only flaw I found is that it leaks when filled with water, so you need a catch tray, and then have to mist the seeds because the water level is too low to moisten them. Still, a fun object.

This was the purrfect gift! My sister inlaw thought I was kitten around when she opened it, but then she realized how awesome this gift is.
