AMAZING for costumes!!
I bought this for my Halloween costume and, for the price, I wasn’t expecting something super fancy, but this is everything I was hoping for and more! The sheath and handle are plastic, which is fine because I think it makes it a bit more durable without skipping on the cool look, and the blade itself is metal which I really appreciate. The blade is dull, but a friend of mine noted that it could probably be sharpened into a real knife (I’m not sure though as I have no experience in the area). The blade fits really snugly in the sheath, so there is no fear of it falling out. Though because of this, when I have the dagger on my belt, I have to hold onto the sheath in order to pull the blade out, otherwise I’ll just pull the whole thing. I got it with a frog that I also ordered on Amazon and they go perfectly together, so I recommend going that route if that is what you are going for. I have already gotten a bunch of compliments on it, even though I’ve just been showing people pictures! I would have been happy with a very fake plastic knife for 10 bucks, so this is totally worth it for the price!! (Maybe not if you are looking for a real knife though)

Great little cosplay dagger for those who know how to reel in their expectations
Here's what I bought it for... I needed just the appearance of a side dagger. Something that would have been just the utility dagger for someone in the time. I liked the design of this one because it is pretty much a replica of Strider's sword from The Lord of The Rings. That was the first real long sword I ever had, so I liked that this matched. It is the perfect length for a side dagger. Forget about what anyone says about it being too short. They must have been expecting a sword or something. This is a dagger. You wouldn't want it any longer than this or else it would have been useless. People used their side daggers as utensils when they ate. It had to be short enough to be functional as a fork, so having a 20 inch dagger would have been useless. The handle is plastic on the black parts. I don't know what kind of metal the rest of the hilt and guard are. Tin? Aluminum? Whatever it is, it is shiny and looks fine. I'm actually going to paint the whole thing black, so I don't really care much what kind of shine it has. My sword is black, so I want this to match. The blade is fine. Typical for a ten dollar dagger like this. Keep in mind that this is a costume piece. You aren't actually going to want to take this knife with you when the zombie apocalypse happens. It is very much NOT sharp. The edge is as flat as a quarter. It is not a cutting knife. I don't even think I would use this as a letter opener. The geometry of the blade isn't really good for anything other than just looking like a dagger. It is very pointy, though, so that is a good thing. Something like this would only be useful to stab something with, but definitely NOT a chopping blade or cutting blade. It fits well in the scabbard. Nice and tight. No chance of it falling out. In fact, it is tight enough that unless it is really secured tightly in a frog or attached securely to your belt, you are going to want to hold on to the scabbard when you draw the knife. It will just all come out from under your belt together otherwise. That's fine. Better too tight than too loose for a costume piece. I don't want someone joking and just reaching in and drawing it on me.Just have clear expectations. This is a great looking cosplay piece, but it isn't functional. It will look great under your belt and that's all it is meant to do. For this price, what were you expecting? It is a great little dagger that is going to look great with the rest of my outfit and that is why I bought it. :) I'm very very pleased and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something similar. Don't pay what they are going to charge you at the fair or comicon for this knife. You know they bought them for 5 bucks and are just gouging you at the shows. Buy it on Amazon for half of what any fair or show will charge you.

Small but pack$ a punch.
Like I have seen in other reviews, I was a little put out by how small it is. The handle is just barely big enough for my hand and I expected it to be the correct size or a little big as I don't have giant hands. Having said that, the thing looks great and functions as a show piece/costume prop. It isn't a "functional" knife but for the price, I think it looks great and from Ren fairs and plays, will be just what the doctor ordered.

Costume piece.
It is cool looking. But thats about it. The knife is pointy but I couldn't even open a letter with it. Great for Renaissance Festival, Cosplay, photo shoot, coffee table conversation piece but don't expect it to perform any practical knife duties. The handle did come apart while trying to open a box with it. Glued it back together. No biggie. Just a cool showpiece.

Prop dagger is sturdy, convincing, and cheap
This dagger is perfect as a prop. It has a stainless steel blade and polished metal fittings, and though the handle has some plastic parts, the whole dagger has weight and is both sturdy and convincing. The scabbard also has some plastic parts, but it is also sturdy and convincing. If I was not already sure it had plastic parts and a $10.00 price tag, I would be convinced it is the real thing.

Cheap plastic junk
Extremely poor craftsmanship for the price..

Disappointed
Decent enough, but the photos are misleading. The handle is too small for a man's hand. Looks good as a display piece, bit not functional.

Great value
I ordered this for a ceremony tool & it is perfect for the job. Looks impressive, feels substantial in the hand. All my friends gave it 2 thumbs up. Everything you'd want for the money, worth it
